This European Standard specifies the performance requirements for electrical apparatus used for the direct detection and direct concentration measurement of toxic gases and vapours in workplace atmospheres. The standard test gas concentration (STGC) to be used for the tests are given in annex A of prEN 45544-1. In the instances in which no STGC is assigned in 5.6 of prEN 45544-1:1998, a STGC may be agreed between the manufacturer and test laboratory considering the National limit values.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Anforderungen an das Betriebsverhalten elektrischer Geräte für die direkte Detektion und direkte Konzentrationsmessung toxischer Gase und Dämpfe in der Arbeitsplatzatmosphäre fest. Die Standardprüfgaskonzentration für die Prüfungen sind im Anhang A von prEN 45544-1 aufgeführt. In den Fällen, in denen in 5.6 von prEN 45544-1 keine Standardprüfgaskonzentration festgelegt ist, darf ein Standardprüfgaskonzentration zwischen dem Hersteller und dem Prüflabor unter Berücksichtigung der nationalen Grenzwerte vereinbart werden.

La présente norme européenne spécifie les performances requises pour les appareillages électriques utilisés pour la détection directe des vapeurs et gaz polluants et le mesurage direct de leur concentration dans l'atmosphère des lieux de travail. Les concentrations de gaz d'essai de référence (CGER) à utiliser pour les essais sont indiquées dans l'annexe A du prEN 45544-1. Dans tous les cas où aucune valeur de CGER n'est indiquée au paragraphe 5.6 de l'EN 45544-1:1998, le fabricant et le laboratoire d'essai peuvent définir une CGER d'un commun accord, en tenant compte des valeurs limites nationales.
