This European Standard specifies requirements for gas cylinder valves and the method of testing such valves, for type approval. This standard is applicable to valves to be fitted to gas cylinders, up to 150 l water capacity, intended to convey compressed, liquefied or dissolved gases. This standard is only applicable to valves operated by a hand wheel or a key. This standard is not applicable to valves for breathing equipment, fire extinguishers, cryogenic equipment or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

Diese Norm ist anzuwenden für Ventile an Gasflaschen mit einem Fassungsvermögen bis 150 l zur Beförderung von verdichteten, verflüssigten und unter Druck gelösten Gasen. Diese Norm gilt nur für Ventile, die mit einem Handrad oder einem Schlüssel betätigt werden. La présente norme européenne spécifie les exigences relatives aux robinets de bouteilles à gaz et les méthodes d'essais de ces robinets en vue de leur homologation. La présente norme est applicable aux robinets montés sur des bouteilles à gaz de contenance en eau ne dépassant pas 150 l conçues pour transporter des gaz comprimés, liquéfiés ou dissous. La présente norme n'est applicable qu'aux robinets manoeuvrés à l'aide d'un volant ou d'une clé. La présente norme n'est pas applicable aux robinets pour appareils respiratoires, pour extincteurs d'incendie, pour équipements cryogéniques et pour GPL.
