La présente norme européénne spécifie les conditions de livraison en matière de qualité de surface des ronds et fils-machines laminés à chaud de diamètre nominal dN compris entre 5 mm au moins et 150 au plus. Par accord à la commande, la présente norme européenne peut également être utilisée pour les barres de section carrée, hexagonale et octogonale. La norme s'applique avant tout aux aciers de construction mécanique mais peut également, par accordà la commande, être appliquée aux aciers de construction d'usage général et aux aciers à outils.
