Additional specific safety requirements for specific pieces of playground equipment are specified in subsequent parts of this standard. This standard is applicable to playground equipment intended for individual and collective use by children, but excluding adventure playgrounds 1).

Diese Norm legt allgemeine sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen für Spielplatzgeräte fest. Diese Anforderungen wurden so festgelegt, dass sie die nach heutigen Erkenntnissen kalkulierbaren Risikofaktoren berücksichtigen. Zusätzliche besondere sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen für spezielle Spielplatzgeräte sind in den folgenden Teilen festgelegt. Diese Norm gilt für Spielplatzgeräte, die für einzelne und gemeinsame Benutzung durch Kinder vorgesehen sind, schließt aber Abenteuer-Spielplätze 1) aus.

La présente norme spécifie les exigences de sécurité générales pour les équipements d'aires de jeux. Ces exigences ont été fixées en tenant compte du facteur de risque basé sur les données disponibles. Des exigences de sécurité complémentaires spécifiques à certains équipements d'aires de jeux sont définies dans les parties ultérieures de la présente norme. La présente norme est applicable aux équipements d'aires de jeux destinés à être utilisés à titre individuel et collectif par des enfants, les terrains d'aventure étant exclus 1 1).
