This European Standard specifies the requirements for foot valves for use on transportable tanks with a minimum working pressure greater than 50 kPa for the transport of dangerous goods by road and rail.
It is applicable to metallic equipment for use on tanks with gravity and/or pressure bottom loading and discharge for liquid chemicals and liquefied gases. It includes carbon dioxide while excluding refrigerated liquefied gases.
NOTE The standard is also applicable to liquefied gases including LPG, however, for a dedicated LPG standard see EN 13175 [3].

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Anforderungen an Bodenventile für die Verwendung an ortsbeweglichen Tanks mit einem Mindest-Betriebsdruck von mehr als 50 kPa für die Beförderung gefährlicher Güter auf der Straße und auf der Schiene fest.
Sie gilt für Ausrüstung aus Metall für Tanks für flüssige Chemieprodukte und Flüssiggase mit Untenbefüllung und entleerung mittels Schwerkraft und/oder Druck. Dies schließt Kohlendioxid ein und tiefkalte Gase aus.
ANMERKUNG Die Norm gilt ebenfalls für verflüssigte Gase, einschließlich Flüssiggas (LPG); für eine einschlägige Flüssiggasnorm wird auf EN 13175 [3] verwiesen.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les exigences relatives aux clapets de fond utilisés sur les citernes transportables, dont la pression minimale de service est supérieure à 50 kPa, pour le transport routier ou ferroviaire des matières dangereuses.
Elle est applicable aux équipements métalliques utilisés sur les citernes à chargement et à déchargement par le bas par gravité et/ou sous pression pour produits chimiques liquides et gaz liquéfiés. Elle inclut le dioxyde de carbone, mais exclut les gaz liquéfiés réfrigérés.
NOTE La norme s’applique également aux gaz liquéfiés, y compris le GPL. Toutefois, pour une norme spécifique au GPL, se reporter à l’EN 13175 [3].
