Agricultural machinery - Trailers with tipping body - Safety
This standard specifies specific safety requirements and their verification for the design and construction of agricultural trailers with a tipping body, balanced and semi mounted, where the term agricultural trailer refers to a vehicle used in agriculture only for transportation and which, through its design, is adapted and intended for towing by a tractor or a self-propelled agricultural machine.
This standard is not applicable to trailers with a de-mountable body.
NOTE Braking requirements are not included in this standard. These will be studied during its revision depending on the development of European regulations.
In addition, it specifies the type of information on safe working practices to be provided by the manufacturer.
The list of significant hazards dealt with in this standard is given in annex A. Annex A also indicates the hazards which have not been dealt with.
Environmental aspects have not been considered in this standard.
This standard applies primarily to machines which are manufactured after the date of issue of the standard.
Landmaschinen - Anhänger mit Kippaufbauten - Sicherheit
Diese Norm enthält spezifische sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen und deren Überprüfung für die Gestaltung und Konstruktion von landwirtschaftlichen Gelenk- und Starrdeichsel-Anhängern mit Kippaufbauten, wobei unter dem Begriff landwirtschaftlicher Anhänger ein Fahrzeug zu verstehen ist, das in der Land¬wirtschaft nur für den Transport eingesetzt wird und das aufgrund der Bauart dazu geeignet und bestimmt ist, von einem Traktor oder einer selbstfahrenden Landmaschine gezogen zu werden.
Diese Norm gilt nicht für Anhänger mit absetzbaren Aufbauten.
ANMERKUNG Anforderungen an Bremsen sind nicht in dieser Norm enthalten. Sie werden bei einer Revision in Abhängigkeit von der Erarbeitung Europäischer Vorschriften behandelt.
Außerdem gibt sie Informationen über sicheres Arbeiten, die vom Hersteller zur Verfügung zu stellen sind.
Die Liste der signifikanten Gefährdungen, die in dieser Norm angesprochen werden, ist in Anhang A aufge-führt. Der Anhang A weist auch auf die Gefährdungen hin, die nicht behandelt wurden.
Umweltaspekte wurden in dieser Norm nicht in Betracht gezogen.
Diese Norm gilt in erster Linie für Maschinen, die nach dem Ausgabedatum der Norm hergestellt worden sind.

La présente norme européenne détermine les prescriptions spécifiques de sécurité et les vérifications pour la
conception et la construction des remorques agricoles à benne basculante, traînées et semi-portées, sachant que
l’on entend par remorque agricole un véhicule utilisé en agriculture uniquement pour le transport et qui, de par sa
conception, est adapté et prévu pour être attelé à un tracteur ou à une machine agricole automotrice.
La présente norme n’est pas applicable aux remorques à benne démontable.
NOTE Les prescriptions en matière de freinage ne sont pas incluses dans la présente norme. Celles-ci seront étudiées lors
de la révision de la norme en fonction du développement des législations européennes.
En outre, elle spécifie le type d’informations que le fabricant doit donner sur les pratiques d’utilisation sûre.
La liste des phénomènes dangereux significatifs traités dans cette norme est donnée en annexe A. L’annexe A
indique également les phénomènes dangereux qui n’ont pas été traités.
Les aspects liés à l’environnement n’ont pas été pris en compte dans cette norme.
La présente norme s’applique avant tout aux machines fabriquées après la date de publication de la norme.

Ta standard opredeljuje posebne varnostne zahteve in njihovo preverjanje pri načrtovanju in izdelavi kmetijskih prikolic z dvižnim kesonom, uravnoteženim in napol nameščenim, pri čemer se izraz kmetijska prikolica nanaša na vozila, ki se uporabljajo v kmetijstvu samo za transportiranje in so načrtovane tako, da so prilagojene in namenjene vlečenju s traktorjem ali samognanim kmetijskim strojem. Ta standard se ne uporablja za prikolice s snemljivim trupom. Poleg tega opredeljuje vrsto informacij glede varnih delovnih praks, ki jih mora zagotoviti proizvajalec. Seznam velikih nevarnosti, ki jih obravnava ta standard, je podan v Dodatku A. Dodatek A navaja tudi nevarnosti, ki niso bile obravnavane. Okoljski vidiki v tem standardu niso obravnavani. 1 – Tipping axis Figure 3 — Examples of high-tip trailer 3.4 sideboard fixed or movable wall that constitutes the load retaining side of the body and which may be hinged on the platform of the trailer 3.5 tipping action that allows the load carried in the trailer to be discharged by tilting the body NOTE 2 The tipping can be lateral or to the rear. 4 Safety requirements and/or measures 4.1 General Machines shall comply as appropriate with EN 292 for hazards which are not dealt with and especially with annex A of EN 292-2:1991/A1:1995 when EN 292 does not give precise requirements. Unless otherwise specified in this standard, the trailer shall comply with the requirements of prEN 1553:1998 and with tables 1, 3, 4 and 6 of EN 294:1992. 4.2 Stability 4.2.1 Stability of the detached trailer Trailers shall be designed to comply with the stability requirements given in 4.3.2.1 of prEN 1553:1998. When the trailer is parked on a horizontal surface, containing a uniform load equal to the maximum permissible load declared by the manufacturer, any supporting devices other than wheels shall have a bearing surface designed to limit the ground pressure to a maximum of 400 kPa. The design shall ensure that the detached trailer does not move (e.g. by the provision of blocks). This requirement shall be checked by standing the trailer, loaded at its maximum permissible load, and with any steerable axles in the straight ahead position on a firm surface with a slope of 8,5°. This test shall be carried out with the trailer positioned on the slope in the most unfavourable orientation which shall be recorded.

Trailers with sideboards higher than 900 mm measured from the trailer platform shall be fitted with an interior boarding means in conformity with 4.1.6 of prEN 1553:1998. This boarding means shall be on the same sideboard and opposite to the exterior one. NOTE The boarding means should preferably be placed on the left side of the front of the trailer relative to the direction of motion. 4.4 Tipping 4.4.1 It shall always be possible to actuate the tipping control(s) (up and down) from the driving position. When (an) additional control(s) is (are) provided on the trailer, it (they) shall be of the hold-to-run type and shall conform with 4.3.1 of prEN 1553:1998. 4.4.2 The hydraulic tipping system and the hydraulic braking system shall not be controlled by the same hydraulic circuit. 4.4.3 Trailers shall be constructed so that the highest permissible tipping position cannot be exceeded. 4.5 Interconnections 4.5.1 Mechanical interconnection The hitch ring of a trailer equipped with a low hitch i.e. located below the power-take-off, shall conform to ISO 5692:1979.
