It is intended to be used in conjunction with selective testing for packaging for liquids. The standard is not intended to be used for comparative testing of recycled plastics material.

Diese Europäische Norm legt Werkstoffkennwerte, Prüfanforderungen und Prüfverfahren für die vergleichende Prüfung von Polyethylensorten hochmolekularen Polyethylens hoher Dichte (en: high molecular weight high density polyethylene, PE HD HMW) und mittelmolekularen Polyethylens hoher Dichte (en: medium molecular weight high density polyethylene, PE HD MMW), für die Herstellung von Verpackungen und Großpackmitteln (IBCs) für die Beförderung gefährlicher Güter fest. Es ist vorgesehen, sie in Verbindung mit der selektiven Prüfung von Verpackungen für flüssige Stoffe anzuwenden. Die Norm ist nicht für die vergleichende Prüfung von Recycling-Kunststoffen vorgesehen.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les paramètres des matériaux, les exigences et les modes opératoires d’essai permettant de procéder à des essais comparatifs des grades de polyéthylène à haute densité de haute masse moléculaire (PE-HD-HMW) et de polyéthylène à haute densité de masse moléculaire moyenne (PE-HD-MMW) utilisées pour la fabrication d’emballages et de grands récipients pour vrac (GRV) destinés au transport de marchandises dangereuses. Elle est destinée à être utilisée conjointement dans le cadre des essais sélectifs d’emballages de liquides. Cette norme n’est pas destinée à être appliquée pour les essais comparatifs de matières plastiques recyclées.

Ta evropski standard določa parametre materialov, preskusne zahteve in postopke za preskušanje ter primerjavo razredov polietilenov z visoko molekulsko maso in visoko gostoto (PE-HD-HMW) ter polietilenov s srednjo molekulsko maso in visoko gostoto (PE-HD-MMW), ki se uporabljajo pri proizvodnji embalaže in vmesnih vsebnikov (IBC) za transport nevarnega blaga. Standard je namenjen uporabi v povezavi s selektivnim preskušanjem embalaže za tekočino. Standard ni namenjen za primerjalno preskušanje reciklirane plastike.

- Molecular degradation (MFR increase after exposure): relative oxidation measured by MFR increase; Material B increase ≤ 120 % of Material A increase.
Test specimen preparation: Except for MFR (tested on pellets), comparative tests use compression‑moulded sheets prepared per EN ISO 17855‑2 with specified cooling and conditioning (cooling rate 15 °C/min, conditioned at 100 °C for 3 h, stored ≥ 40 h at 23 ± 2 °C).
Reporting: Test report must list batch numbers, sample sources and reference EN 15507:2017. National authorities may require submission of reports for decisions.
