IS0 (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation
of national standards institutes (IS0 member bodies). The work of developing
International Standards is carried out through IS0 technical committees. Every
member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been set
up has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations,
governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work.
Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committees are circulated
to the member bodies for approval before their acceptance as International
Standards by the IS0 Council.
International Standard IS0 1942/l I was developed by Technical Committee
ISO/TC 106, Dentistry. The first edition (IS0 1942/11-1975) was circulated to the
member bodies in April 1972.
It was approved by the member bodies of the following countries :

United Kingdom
Canada Ireland

This second edition, which cancels and replaces IS0 1942/11-1975, incorporates
draft Adenda 1 and 2, which were circulated to the member bodies in August 1975
and January 1976 respectively.
Draft Addendum 1 was approved by the member bodies of the following countries :

France New Zealand United Kingdom
India Romania U.S.A.

L'ISO (Organisation internationale de normaoisation) est une fédération mondiale
