Ta standard se uporablja za vtiče, vtičnice, konektorje in uvodnice na vozilih s trni in cevastimi kontakti standardiziranih oblik (v nadaljnjem besedilu: »priključki«). Njihova nominalna nazivna obratovalna napetost je manjša od 500 V izmenične napetosti, nazivni tok pa manjši od 63 A pri treh fazah ali 70 A pri eni fazi za uporabo pri sistemih za kabelsko napajanje električnih vozil.
