IEC 60512-11-1:2019 when required by the detail (product) specification, is used for testing connectors within the scope of IEC technical committee 48. This test may also be used for similar devices (i.e. when the degradation mechanisms are the same) when specified in a detail (product) specification. The object of this test is to define a standard test method to assess the ability of connectors to function in a specified manner, in a specified environment which might be encountered during normal use, including storage. This document provides a standard composite test method for determining the suitability of connectors when subjected to environmental conditions consisting of a sequence of temperature, humidity and, where required, low air pressure environmental stresses. Ta del standarda IEC 60512 se uporablja, če tako zahteva podrobna specifikacija (izdelka), za preskušanje konektorjev na področju uporabe določil tehničnega odbora IEC 48. Ta preskus se lahko uporablja tudi za podobne naprave (npr. če imajo enak mehanizem degradacije), če je tako določeno v podrobni specifikaciji (izdelka).
Cilj tega preskusa je, da določi standardno preskusno metodo za oceno zmožnosti konektorjev, da delujejo na določen način, v določenem okolju, kot bo to pri običajni uporabi, vključno s shranjevanjem.
Ta dokument zagotavlja standardno sestavljeno preskusno metodo za določanje primernosti konektorja, izpostavljenega okoljskim pogojem, ki so sestavljeni iz zaporedja okoljskih obremenitev, kot so temperatura, vlažnost in (če je to ustrezno) nizek zračni tlak.

Pri sestavljenem preskusu so konektorski preskušanci izpostavljeni okoljskim preskusom v standardnem vrstnem redu in so kategorizirani glede na njihove podnebne kategorije, kot je to določeno v podrobni specifikaciji (izdelka), vendar pa je tretja skupina številk uporabljena kot oznaka števila ciklov v 5. koraku preskusa s ciklično vlažno vročino v skladu s standardom IEC 60512-11-12.
Če so potrebne spremembe, podrobna specifikacija ustreznega konektorja (izdelka) podaja potrebne informacije za vsak korak metode.
Ta preskus je pogosto določen tako, da sledi drugim preskusom mehanskih obremenitev, na primer preskusom robustnosti priključkov, preskusom primernosti za spajkanje ali preskusom z udarci in vibracijami, kot sredstvo za določanje, ali je tesnitev preskušanca poškodovana.

FOREWORD
1) The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a worldwide organization for standardization comprising
all national electrotechnical committees (IEC National Committees). The object of IEC is to promote international
co-operation on all questions concerning standardization in the electrical and electronic fields. To this end and
in addition to other activities, IEC publishes International Standards, Technical Specifications, Technical Reports,
Publicly Available Specifications (PAS) and Guides (hereafter referred to as “IEC Publication(s)”). Their
