This standard specifies guidelines to describe thermal spraying quality requirements suitable for application by the manufacturers using the thermal spraying process for coating new parts, for repair and maintenance. They are structured in the way that they can be used for any type of construction to be sprayed. These guidelines relate only to those aspects of the quality of the final construction to be sprayed which may be influenced by thermal spraying and allied processes (pre- and posttreatment, etc.).

Diese Norm enthält Richtlinien, um Qualitätsanforderungen an das thermische Spritzen für Hersteller zu beschreiben, die thermische Spritzverfahren zum Beschichten neuer Bauteile, für Reparatur und Instandsetzungsarbeiten einsetzen. Sie ist so gegliedert, daß sie für jede Art zu spritzender Konstruktionen angewendet werden kann. Diese Richtlinien beziehen sich nur auf solche Qualitätsaspekte der fertigen Konstruktionen, die durch das thermische Spritzen und den damit zusammenhängenden Verfahren (Vor- und Nachbehandeln, etc.) beeinflußt werden können.

La présente norme spécifie des lignes directrices permettant de décrire les exigences qualité de projection thermique à appliquer par les fabricants qui utilisent les procédés de projection thermique pour le revêtement de nouvelles pièces, pour la réparation et la maintenance. Elles sont structurées de manière à pouvoir être utilisées pour tout type de construction devant subir une projection. Ces lignes directrices traitent seulement des aspects relatifs à la qualité du produit final qui peuvent être affectés par la projection thermique et les procédés associés (pré et post-traitement, etc.).
