Non-destructive testing - Characterization and verification of ultrasonic test equipment - Part 3: Combined equipment (ISO 22232-3:2020)

This document specifies methods, tolerances and acceptance criteria for verifying the performance of combined ultrasonic test equipment (i.e. instrument, probes and cables connected) by the use of appropriate standard calibration blocks.
These methods are specifically intended for manual test equipment, i.e. ultrasonic instruments according to ISO 22232-1, and for manual ultrasonic non-destructive testing with single- or dual-transducer probes according to ISO 22232-2. This document is also applicable for multi-channel instruments. For automated test equipment, different tests can be needed to ensure satisfactory performance.
The specified methods are intended for the use by operators working under site or shop floor conditions.
These methods are not intended to prove the suitability of the equipment for particular applications.
This document excludes ultrasonic instruments for continuous waves.
This document also excludes ultrasonic phased array systems, see e. g. ISO 18563-3. If a phased array instrument is used in combination with single- or dual-transducer probes, this document is applicable to this combination.

Zerstörungsfreie Prüfung - Charakterisierung und Verifizierung der Ultraschall-Prüfausrüstung - Teil 3: Komplette Prüfausrüstung (ISO 22232-3:2020)

Dieses Dokument legt Verfahren, Grenzabweichungen und Zulässigkeitskriterien zur Verifizierung der Leistungsfähigkeit der kompletten Ultraschallprüfausrüstung (d. h. Prüfgerät, Prüfköpfe und angeschlossene Kabel) durch die Anwendung geeigneter genormter Kalibrierkörper fest.
Diese Verfahren sind insbesondere für manuelle Prüfausrüstung vorgesehen, d. h. für Ultraschallgeräte nach ISO 22232 1 und für manuelle zerstörungsfreie Ultraschallprüfungen mit Einschwinger- oder SE-Prüfköpfen nach ISO 22232 2. Dieses Dokument ist auch bei Mehrkanalgeräten anwendbar. Für automatisierte Prüfausrüstungen können andere Überprüfungen erforderlich sein, um eine zufriedenstellende Leistung sicherzustellen.
Die festgelegten Verfahren sind für die Anwendung durch Prüfer unter den Bedingungen am Prüfort oder der Fertigungsstätte vorgesehen.
Diese Verfahren sind nicht dazu gedacht, die Eignung der Prüfausrüstung für bestimmte Anwendungen nachzuweisen.
Dieses Dokument schließt Ultraschallgeräte für Dauerschall aus.
Dieses Dokument schließt ebenfalls Ultraschallsysteme mit phasengesteuerten Arrays aus, siehe ISO 18563 3. Wenn ein Gerät mit phasengesteuerten Arrays in Kombination mit Einschwinger- oder SE-Prüfköpfen angewendet wird, gilt dieses Dokument für diese Kombination.

Le présent document spécifie les méthodes, les tolérances et les critères d'acceptation permettant de vérifier les performances des équipements complets de contrôle par ultrasons (c'est-à-dire l'appareil, les traducteurs et les câbles connectés), en utilisant des blocs d'étalonnage normalisés appropriés.
Ces méthodes sont spécifiquement destinées aux équipements de contrôle manuel, c'est-à-dire les appareils de contrôle par ultrasons conformes à l'ISO 22232-1, et aux contrôles manuels non destructifs par ultrasons avec des traducteurs à transducteur simple ou à émetteur et récepteur séparés conformes à l'ISO 22232-2. This document (EN ISO 22232-3:2020) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 135 "Non-
destructive testing" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 138 “Non-destructive testing”
the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by April 2021, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by April 2021.
