Geographic information - Data description - Transfer

This European Prestandard specifies a method for the transfer of geographic data and their metadata. It defines the transfer schemas, implementation mechanisms and encoding rules for the transfer of geographic data. This European Prestandard supports transfer both for data defined by standardised schemas and for data defined by application specific schemas.

In dieser Europäischen Norm wird ein Verfahren für den Transfer von Geodaten festgelegt. Es werden die Transfer-Schemata, die Realisierungsmechanismen und die Verschlüsselungsregeln für den Transfer von Geodaten definiert. Die Norm unterstützt den Transfer sowohl von Daten, die durch genormte Schemata definiert sind, als auch von Daten, die durch anwendungsspezifische Schemata definiert sind.

La présente norme européenne spécifie uen méthode de transfert de données géographiques. Elle définit les schémas de transfert, les mécanismes de mise en oeuvre et les règles de codage pour le transfert de données géographiques. La norme prend en charge le transfert de données définies par des schémas normalisés ainsi que de données définies par des schémas spécifiques à une application.

This collection refers mainly to the projects funded by the European Union funding programmes: this choice is driven by the wide vision and analysis which such kind of projects can provide and the wide numbers of stakeholders which have been involved.
The outcomes delivered by these relevant practices are collected into a document registry available through the CEN/TC 287 web site. This part of the Technical Report defines the processes and the content of these projects and documents registries, which will help making them more accessible and re-usable. It provides the relevant project deliverables addressing the main SDI issues as described in the other parts of this Technical Report.
