Gas cylinders - Ball valves - Specification and testing (ISO 23826:2021)

This document specifies design, type testing, marking, manufacturing tests and examinations requirements for ball valves used as:
closures of refillable transportable gas cylinders, pressure drums and tubes;
main valves for cylinder bundles;
valves for cargo transport units [e.g. trailers, battery vehicles, multi-element gas containers (MEGCs)];
which convey compressed gases, liquefied gases and dissolved gases.
NOTE 1      In this document, the term “valve” is used with the meaning of “ball valve”.
This document does not apply to ball valves for:
oxidizing gases as defined in ISO 10156;
toxic gases (i.e. gases listed in ISO 10298 having an LC50 value ≤ 5 000 ppm
acetylene for single gas cylinders, pressure drums and tubes.
NOTE 2      The reason for the exclusion of oxidizing gases is that the use of ball valves as closures of high-pressure cylinders for oxidizing gases is known to lead to specific ignition hazards that cannot reasonably be mitigated through the ball valve design or type testing. Safety hazards concern both the ball valve itself and any downstream equipment.
NOTE 3      The reason for the exclusion of acetylene for single gas cylinders, pressure drums and tubes is that the risk of an acetylene decomposition cannot reasonably be mitigated through the ball valve design or type testing.
This document does not apply to ball valves for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), cryogenic equipment, portable fire extinguishers and cylinders for breathing apparatus.
NOTE 4      Requirements for valves for cryogenic vessels are specified in ISO 21011.
NOTE 5      Certain specific requirements for quick-release valves for fixed fire-fighting systems in addition to those that are given in this document are specified in ISO 16003.

Gasflaschen - Kugelhähne - Spezifikation und Prüfungen (ISO 23826:2021)

Dieses Dokument legt Anforderungen an Auslegung, Baumusterprüfung, Kennzeichnung sowie Herstellungsprüfungen und -überprüfungen für Kugelhähne fest, die als:
a) Verschlüsse von wiederbefüllbaren ortsbewegliche Gasflaschen, Druckfässern und Großflaschen;
b) Hauptabsperrventile für Flaschenbündel;
c) Ventile für Güter-Transporteinheiten (z. B. Anhänger, Batterie-Fahrzeuge und MEGCs [en: multi-element gas containers]);
für verdichtete Gase, verflüssigte Gase und gelöste Gase verwendet werden.
ANMERKUNG 1 Im Laufe des Dokuments wird der Begriff „Ventil“ in der Bedeutung von „Kugelhahn“ verwendet.
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für Kugelhähne für:
- oxidierende Gase wie in ISO 10156 festgelegt;
- giftige Gase (d. h. in ISO 10298 aufgeführte Gase mit einem LC50 Wert ≤ 5 000 ppm  und
- Acetylen für Einzel-Gasflaschen, Druckfässer und Großflaschen.
ANMERKUNG 2 Der Grund für den Ausschluss oxidierender Gase liegt darin, dass die Verwendung von Kugelhähnen als Verschlüsse von Hochdruckflaschen für oxidierende Gase bekanntermaßen zu spezifischen Zündgefährdungen führt, die durch die Kugelhahnauslegung oder die Baumusterprüfung nicht angemessen gemindert werden können. Gefährdungen betreffen sowohl den Kugelhahn selbst als auch die nachgeschaltete Ausrüstung.
ANMERKUNG 3 Der Grund für den Ausschluss von Acetylen für Einzel-Gasflaschen, Druckfässer und Großflaschen liegt darin, dass das Risiko eines Acetylenzerfalls durch die Kugelhahnauslegung oder die Baumusterprüfung nicht angemessen gemindert werden kann.
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für Kugelhähne für Flüssiggas (LPG, en: liquefied petroleum gas), Kryo-Ausrüstung, tragbare Feuerlöscher und Flaschen für Atemschutzgeräte.
ANMERKUNG 4 Anforderungen an Ventile für Kryo-Behälter sind in ISO 21011 festgelegt.
ANMERKUNG 5 Bestimmte spezifische Anforderungen an Schnellöffnungsventile für ortsfeste Brandbekämpfungsanlagen, zusätzlich zu den in diesem Dokument angegebenen, sind in ISO 16003 festgelegt.

Bouteilles à gaz - Robinets à boisseau sphérique - Spécifications et essais (ISO 23826:2021)

Le présent document spécifie les exigences relatives à la conception, aux essais de type, au marquage et aux essais et contrôles du fabricant pour les robinets à boisseau sphérique utilisées comme:
fermeture de bouteilles à gaz, tubes et fûts à pression transportables rechargeables;
robinet principal de cadre de bouteilles;
robinet d’unité de transport de cargaison [par exemple des remorques, véhicules-batteries et conteneurs à gaz à éléments multiples (CGEM)];
contenant des gaz comprimés, des gaz liquéfiés et des gaz dissouts.
NOTE 1      Dans ce document, le terme «robinet» a le sens de «robinet à boisseau sphérique».
En revanche, le présent document ne s’applique pas aux robinets à boisseau sphérique utilisés pour:
des gaz oxydants, tels que définis dans l’ISO 10156;
des gaz toxiques (c’est-à-dire répertoriés dans l’ISO 10298 comme ayant une LC50 ≤ 5 000 ppm;
de l’acétylène dans des bouteilles à gaz individuelles, des tubes et des fûts à pression.
NOTE 2      Les gaz oxydants sont exclus car l’utilisation de robinets à boisseau sphérique comme fermeture de bouteilles à gaz oxydant sous haute pression est connue pour engendrer des risques d’inflammation particuliers qui ne peuvent être raisonnablement réduits par la conception ni les essais de type des robinets à boisseau sphérique. Les dangers portent à la fois sur le robinet à boisseau sphérique lui-même, ainsi que sur tout l’équipement aval.
NOTE 3      L’acétylène dans des bouteilles à gaz individuelles, des tubes et des fûts à pression est exclu car le risque d’une décomposition de l’acétylène ne peut raisonnablement être réduit par la conception ni les essais de type des robinets à boisseau sphérique.
Le présent document ne s’applique pas aux robinets à boisseau sphérique pour gaz de pétrole liquéfié (GPL), équipement cryogénique, extincteurs portables et bouteilles de respirateur.
NOTE 4      Les exigences relatives aux robinets pour récipients cryogéniques sont indiquées dans l’ISO 21011.
NOTE 5      Certaines exigences particulières applicables aux robinets à ouverture rapide pour les systèmes fixes de lutte contre l’incendie additionnelles à celles indiquées dans le présent document sont précisées dans l’ISO 16003.

Plinske jeklenke - Krogelne pipe - Specifikacija in preskušanje (ISO 23826:2021)

Ta dokument določa zahteve za projektiranje, tipsko preskušanje, označevanje in proizvodne preskuse ter pregledovanje za krogelne pipe, ki se uporabljajo kot:
a) zapirala prenosnih ponovno polnljivih plinskih jeklenk, tlačnih valjev in cevi;
b) glavni ventili za sklope jeklenk;
c) ventili za enote za prevoz tovora (npr. priklopniki, baterijska vozila, plinski vsebniki iz več elementov (MEGC));
za prenašanje stisnjenih, utekočinjenih in raztopljenih plinov.
OPOMBA 1: Izraz »ventil« se v tem dokumentu uporablja s pomenom »krogelna pipa«.
Ta dokument se ne uporablja za:
•   oksidativne pline, kot je opredeljeno v standardu ISO 10156;
•   strupene pline (tj. pline, navedene v standardu ISO 10298 z vrednostjo LC50 ≤ 5000 ppm); in
•   acetilen za posamezne plinske jeklenke, tlačne valje in cevi.
OPOMBA 2: Razlog za izključitev oksidativnih plinov je ta, da uporaba krogelnih pip kot zapiral visokotlačnih
jeklenk za oksidacijske pline povzroča specifične nevarnosti vžiga, ki jih ni mogoče razumno zmanjšati s projektiranjem ali tipskim preskušanjem krogelnih pip. Dejavniki tveganja se navezujejo tako na krogelno pipo kot tudi vso navzdolnjo opremo.
Ta mednarodni dokument se ne uporablja za krogelne pipe za utekočinjeni naftni plin (LPG), kriogeno opremo, prenosne gasilnike in jeklenke dihalnih aparatov.
OPOMBA 3: Zahteve za ventile za kriogenske posode so določene v standardu ISO 21011 in na regionalni ravni, npr. v standardu EN 1626. Zahteve za ventile za prenosne gasilnike na regionalni ravni so določene npr. v skupini standardov EN 3.
OPOMBA 4: Določene posebne zahteve za ventile za dihalne aparate so, poleg zahtev v tem dokumentu, določene na regionalni ravni, npr. v skupini standardov EN 144. Določene posebne zahteve za ventile za hitro sprostitev za fiksne sisteme za gašenje požarov so, poleg zahtev v tem dokumentu, določene v standardu ISO 16003 in na regionalni ravni npr. v standardu EN 12094–4.
