Plastics piping systems for the supply of gaseous fuels - Unplasticized polyamide (PA-U) piping systems with fusion jointing and mechanical jointing - Part 1: General (ISO 16486-1:2023)

This document specifies the general properties of unplasticized polyamide (PA-U) compounds for the manufacture of pipes, fittings and valves made from these compounds, intended to be buried and used for the supply of gaseous fuels. It also specifies the test parameters for the test methods to which it refers.
The ISO 16486 series is applicable to PA-U piping systems, the components of which are connected by fusion jointing and/or mechanical jointing.
This document establishes a calculation and design scheme on which to base the maximum operating pressure (MOP) of a PA-U piping system.
NOTE            For the purpose of this document the term gaseous fuels includes, for example, natural gas, methane, butane, propane, hydrogen, manufactured gas, biogas, and mixtures of these gases.

Dieses Dokument legt die allgemeinen Eigenschaften von weichmacherfreien Polyamid (PA-U)-Formmassen für die Herstellung von Rohren, Formstücken und Armaturen aus diesen Formmassen fest, die unterirdisch verlegt und für den Transport von gasförmigen Brennstoffen verwendet werden. Es legt die Prüfparameter für die Prüfverfahren fest, auf die es verweist.
Die Normenreihe ISO 16486 ist anwendbar für PA-U-Rohrleitungssysteme, deren Komponenten durch Schweißverbindungen und/oder mechanische Verbindungen zusammengefügt werden.
Dieses Dokument legt ein Berechnungs- und ein Auslegungsschema als Grundlage für die Bestimmung des maximalen Betriebsdrucks (MOP, en: maximum operating pressure) eines PA-U-Rohrleitungssystems fest.
ANMERKUNG   Für die Anwendung dieses Dokuments schließt der Begriff „Gas“ (gasförmiger Brennstoff) sowohl Erdgas, Methan, Butan, Propan, Wasserstoff, Industrie-Gas, Biogas als auch Gemische aus diesen, ein.

Le présent document spécifie les propriétés générales des compositions de polyamide non plastifié (PA-U) pour la fabrication de tubes, raccords et robinets fabriqués à partir de la composition, destinés à être enterrés et utilisés pour la distribution de combustibles gazeux. Il spécifie également les paramètres d’essai pour les méthodes d’essai auxquelles il fait référence.
La série ISO 16486 s’applique aux systèmes de canalisations en PA-U dont les composants sont raccordés par des assemblages par soudage et/ou par des assemblages mécaniques.
Ce document établit un schéma de calcul et de conception sur lequel baser la pression maximale de service (MOP) d’un système de canalisations en PA-U.
NOTE            Dans le cadre du présent document, le terme de combustibles gazeux comprend par exemple le gaz naturel, le méthane, le butane, le propane, l'hydrogène, le gaz manufacturé, le biogaz et les mélanges de ces gaz.

Ta dokument določa splošne lastnosti spojin nemehčanega poliamida (PA-U) za
izdelavo cevi, fitingov in ventilov iz teh snovi, ki so predvideni za vkop in uporabo za
namene oskrbe s plinastimi gorivi. Prav tako določa preskusne parametre za preskusne metode, na katere se
nanaša.
Skupina standardov ISO 16486 se uporablja za cevne sisteme iz nemehčanega poliamida, sestavnih deli katerih so povezani
z zvari in/ali mehanskimi spoji.
Ta dokument določa izračun in projektno shemo, na kateri je treba osnovati največji obratovalni
tlak (MOP) cevnega sistema iz nemehčanega poliamida.
OPOMBA: Za namene tega dokumenta izraz plinska goriva na primer vključuje zemeljski plin, metan, butan, propan, vodik, industrijski plin, bioplin in njihove mešanice.

This document (EN ISO 16486-1:2023) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 138
"Plastics pipes, fittings and valves for the transport of fluids" in collaboration with Technical Committee
CEN/TC 155 “Plastics piping systems and ducting systems” the secretariat of which is held by NEN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2024, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by June 2024.
