This European Standard specifies the equipment and procedures for determining the bending behaviour of full size products (Method A) and test specimens (Method B) under the action of three-point loading. It is applicable to thermal insulating products. The test is designed to determine the bending strength of products and their deflection at a given load. The method can be used to determine the resistance of the product to bending stresses during transport and application.

Diese Europäische Norm legt Prüfeinrichtungen und Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Verhaltens bei Biegebeanspruchung von Produkten in Liefermaßen (Prüfverfahren A) und von Probekörpern (Prüfverfahren B) unter einer 3-Punkt-Beanspruchung fest. Sie gilt für Wärmedämmstoffe. Das Prüfverfahren dient zur Bestimmung der Biegefestigkeit von Produkten und deren Durchbiegung bei einer gegebenen Belastung. Das Prüfverfahren kann angewendet werden, um die Widerstandsfähigkeit eines Produkts gegen Biegespannungen bei Transport und Anwendung zu bestimmen.

Cette norme européenne définit l'équipement et les procédures nécessaires à la détermination du comportement en flexion des produits dans leurs dimensions d'origine (méthode A) et des éprouvettes (méthode B) sous l'action d'une charge répartie en trois points. Elle s'applique aux produits isolants thermiques. L'essai est destiné à fournir des informations sur la résistance à la flexion ainsi que la flèche correspondant à une charge donnée. Il peut être utilisé pour démontrer que le produit possède une résistance à la flexion suffisante pour supporter des contraintes de flexion pendant le transport.
