This European standard gives guidance on the selection of wood species based on their natural durability to attack by wood-destroying organisms for use as solid wood or as glued laminated timber (glulam) in the hazard classes defined in EN 335-1. This standard does not consider the durability characteristics of the glue used in glued laminated timber.

Diese europäische Norm gibt eine Anleitung für die Auswahl von Holzarten mit ausreichender Dauerhaftigkeit für die Anwendung in den in EN 335-1 definierten Gefährdungsklassen als Vollholz oder als Brettschichtholz-Element. Diese Dauerhaftigkeit kann natürlich sein, wie in EN 350-2 aufgelistet, oder durch Schutzbehandlung erzielt worden sein, wie in EN 351-1 angegeben.

Cette norme ne prend pas en considération les caractéristiques de durabilité de la colle dans le bois lamellé-collé.
