Railway applications - Driver's cab - Part 4: Layout and access
This document gives design rules and requirements in order to ensure proper access, lighting, seating and exit of the driver’s cab. The different dimensions are based on the anthropometric data defined in EN 16186-1. The corresponding assessment methods are also included in this standard. It covers the following aspects:
- dimension and interior layout;
- door access, steps, floor characteristics;
- seats dimension and clearance;
- interior cab lighting;
- emergency exit;
- marking and labelling.
This part of the EN 16186 series applies to driver’s cabs of Electrical Multiple Unit (EMU), Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU), Railcars, Locomotives and Driving trailers (Driving Coaches).
NOTE 1 This European Standard applies to rolling stock in the scope of Directive 2008/57/EC [6].
This part of the EN 16186 series applies to driver's desks installed on the left, on the right, or in a central position in the driver’s cab. Due to cab space and resulting desk integration constraints, desk layout can vary.
NOTE 2 Due to railway systems constraints, the level of comfort and accessibility provided to the persons outside the anthropometric range defined in EN 16186-1 may vary. Usually the operators manage the potential restrictions, if the driver uses the full range of seat positions (as defined in this standard) combined with extreme body dimensions (as defined in EN 16186-1).
This document is not intended to be applicable for OTMs, tramways, metro and light rail vehicles.

Bahnanwendungen - Führerraum - Teil 4: Gestaltung und Zugang
Dieses Dokument enthält Gestaltungsregeln und Anforderungen, um eine angemessene Ausführung von Zugang, Beleuchtung, Sitzen und Ausstieg aus dem Führerraum sicherzustellen. Die unterschiedlichen Maße basieren auf den in EN 16186 1 festgelegten anthropometrischen Daten. Diese Norm enthält zudem die entsprechenden Bewertungsverfahren. Sie deckt die folgenden Aspekte ab:
— Abmessung und Innenraumgestaltung;
— Türzugang, Stufen, Fußbodeneigenschaften;
— Sitzabmessungen und Freiräume;
— Beleuchtung im Inneren des Führerraums;
— Notausstieg;
— Kennzeichnung und Beschriftung.
Dieser Teil der Normenreihe EN 16186 gilt für Führerräume von elektrischen Triebzügen (EMU), Dieseltriebzügen (DMU), Triebwagen, Lokomotiven und Steuerwagen.
ANMERKUNG 1 Diese Europäische Norm gilt für Schienenfahrzeuge im Anwendungsbereich der Richtlinie 2008/57/EG [6].
Dieser Teil der Normenreihe EN 16186 gilt für Führertische, die links, rechts oder mittig im Führerraum angeordnet sind. Aufgrund der Führerraumgröße und der dadurch bedingten Einschränkungen bei der Integration des Führertisches kann die Gestaltung des Führertischs variieren.
ANMERKUNG 2 Aufgrund von Einschränkungen bei den Eisenbahnsystemen kann der Komfort und Zugang, der Personen außerhalb des in EN 16186 1 definierten anthropometrischen Bereichs geboten wird, abweichen. Für gewöhnlich regeln die Betreiber den Umgang mit potenziellen Einschränkungen für den Fall, dass Triebfahrzeugführer das gesamte Spektrum an Sitzpositionen (wie in dieser Norm definiert) einnehmen und gleichzeitig extreme Körpergrößen (wie in EN 16186 1 definiert) haben.
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für OTMs, Straßenbahnen, U-Bahnen und Stadtbahnen.

Le présent document spécifie les règles de conception et donne des exigences pour optimiser la cabine de conduite en termes d'accès, d'éclairage, d'assise et de sortie. Les différentes dimensions s'appuient sur les données anthropométriques définies dans l'EN 16186-1. Les méthodes d'évaluation correspondantes sont également fournies dans cette norme. La présente norme couvre les aspects suivants :
- dimensions et agencement intérieur ;
- caractéristiques de l'accès aux portes, des marchepieds et du plancher ;
- dimensions et espaces libres concernant les sièges ;
- éclairage intérieur de la cabine ;
- issue de secours ;
- marquage et étiquetage.
La présente partie de la série EN 16186 s'applique aux cabines de conduite de Rames Automotrices Electriques (EMU), de Rames Automotrices Diesel (DMU), d'autorails, de locomotives, ainsi qu'aux voitures-pilotes.
NOTE 1 La présente Norme européenne s'applique au matériel roulant relevant du domaine d'application de la directive 2008/57/CE [6].
La présente partie de la série EN 16186 s'applique aux pupitres de conduite, qu'ils soient installés à gauche, à droite ou au centre dans la cabine de conduite. L'agencement du pupitre de conduite peut varier selon l'espace disponible dans la cabine et les contraintes d'intégration qui en résultent.
NOTE 2 En raison des contraintes des systèmes ferroviaires, le niveau de confort et d'accessibilité fourni aux personnes situées en dehors de la plage de données anthropométriques définie dans l'EN 16186-1 peut varier. Habituellement, les opérateurs gèrent les restrictions potentielles, si le conducteur utilise toute la gamme des positions du siège (telles que définies dans cette norme) en combinaison avec des dimensions du corps extrêmes (telles que définies dans EN 16186-1).
Le présent document n’est pas censé s'appliquer aux tramways, métros et autres véhicules ferroviaires légers.

Železniške naprave - Voznikova kabina - 4. del: Postavitev in dostop
Ta evropski standard določa pravila oblikovanja in smernice za zagotovitev ustreznega dostopa do voznikove kabine, razsvetljave v njej, sedeža in izstopa iz nje. Različne dimenzije temeljijo na antropometričnih podatkih, opredeljenih v standardu EN 16186-1. V ta standard so vključene tudi ustrezne metode ocenjevanja. Zajema naslednje vidike:
– dimenzije in notranjo postavitev;
– dostop do vrat, stopnice, značilnosti tal;
– dimenzije in prostornina sedežev;
– notranja osvetlitev kabine;
– izhod v sili;
– označevanje in etiketiranje.
Ta del skupine standardov EN 16186 se uporablja za voznikove kabine električnih vlečnih vozil (EMU), dizelskih vlečnih vozil (DMU), vagonov, lokomotiv in vlečnih prikolic (vlečnih vagonov).
OPOMBA 1: Ta evropski standard se uporablja za tirna vozila, ki spadajo na področje Direktive 2008/57/ES [6].
Za tirna vozila glejte standarda EN 14033-1 [12] in EN 15746-1 [18].
Ta del standarda EN 16186 se uporablja za voznikove mize, ki so nameščene na levi ali desni strani ali sredi voznikove kabine. Zaradi prostora v kabini in posledičnih omejitev pri vgradnji miz se lahko postavitve miz razlikujejo.
OPOMBA 2: Zaradi omejitev železniških sistemov se raven udobja in dostopnosti za osebe zunaj opredeljenega antropometričnega razpona, določenega v standardu EN 16186-1, lahko razlikuje. Običajno upravljavci obvladujejo morebitne omejitve, če izjemno visok voznik uporablja skrajne položaje sedeža.
