Personal protective equipment against falls from a height - Energy absorbers

This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, instructions for use, marking and packaging for energy absorbers. Energy absorbers according to this standard are used in fall arrest systems specified in EN 363. Fall arresters are specified in EN 353-1, EN 353-2 and EN 360.

Persönliche Schutzausrüstung gegen Absturz - Falldämpfer

Diese Norm legt Anforderungen, Prüfverfahren, Gebrauchsanleitung, Kennzeichnung und Verpackung für Falldämpfer fest. Falldämpfer nach dieser Norm werden in Auffangssystemen entsprechend EN 363 in Verbindung mit Auffanggurten entsprechend EN 361 verwendet. Auffanggeräte werden in EN 353-1, EN 353-2 und EN 360 spezifiziert.

Equipement de protection individuelle contre les chutes de hauteur - Absorbeurs d'énergie

La présente norme fixe les exigences, les méthodes d'essai, le mode d'emploi, le marquage et l'emballage des absorbeurs d'énergie. Les absorbeurs d'énergie conformes à la présente norme sont utilisés dans des systèmes d'arrêt des chutes spécifiés dans l'EN 363. Les antichutes sont spécifiés dans l'EN 353-1, EN 353-2 et l'EN 360.

This European Standard specifies requirements for performance and associated test methods for single-user anchor devices which are intended to be removable from the structure. These anchor devices incorporate stationary or travelling (mobile) anchor points designed for the attachment of components of a personal fall protection system in accordance with EN 363.
This European Standard also gives requirements for marking and instructions for use, and guidance on installation.
This European Standard is not applicable to:
-   anchor devices intended to allow more than one user to be attached at any one time;
-   anchor devices used in any sports or recreational activity;
-   equipment designed to conform to EN 516 or EN 517;
-   elements or parts of structures which were installed for use other than as anchor points or anchor devices, e.g. beams, girders;
-   structural anchors (see 3.3).
