Railway applications - Marking on railway vehicles - Part 1: Freight wagons

This part of the standard identifies the information required to be marked on freight wagons, or parts of freight wagons, relating to their technical and operational characteristics. It defines the characteristics of these markings, the requirements pertaining to their presentation, their shape and position on a vehicle and their meaning. Some markings are accompanied with a note(s) where appropriate.  
Tank barrel manufacturers’ design criteria, test and product specification plates have not been considered in this European Standard as they are specified in EN 12561-1:2011, Railway applications - Tank wagons - Part 1: Identification plates for tank wagons for the carriage of dangerous goods.  
Dangerous Goods markings have not been considered in this European Standard where fully specified in RID (dimensions, colour, location and form). Where markings are not fully specified in RID they are included in this standard.

Bahnanwendungen - Kennzeichnung von Schienenfahrzeugen - Teil 1: Güterwagen

Diese Europäischen Norm definiert die erforderlichen Angaben, mit denen Güterwagen oder Teile von Güterwagen im Hinblick auf ihre technischen und betrieblichen Eigenschaften gekennzeichnet werden. Es wer-den die Eigenschaften dieser Kennzeichnungen bezüglich Darstellung, Form, Position am Fahrzeug und ihre Bedeutung festgelegt. Gegebenenfalls enthalten einige Kennzeichnungen zweckdienliche Hinweise.
Ausführungsgrundlagen für Kennzeichnungsschilder an Tanks von Kesselwagen wurden in dieser Euro-päischen Norm nicht berücksichtigt, da sie in EN 12561-1:2011, "Bahnanwendungen - Kesselwagen - Teil 1: Kennzeichnungsschilder von Kesselwagen für die Beförderung von gefährlichen Gütern" festgelegt werden.
Kennzeichen für gefährliche Güter wurden in dieser Europäischen Norm nicht berücksichtigt, wenn diese vollständig im RID festgeschrieben sind (Abmessungen, Farbe, Position und Form). Sind Kennzeichnungen nicht vollständig im RID festgeschrieben, sind sie in dieser Norm enthalten.

La présente norme européenne identifie les informations dont le marquage est requis sur les wagons, ou des parties d'entre eux, relatives à leurs caractéristiques techniques, opérationnelles et de maintenance. Elle définit les caractéristiques de ces marquages, les exigences relatives à leur présentation, leur forme et leur position sur un véhicule, ainsi que leur signification. Certains marquages sont accompagnés d'une note ou de notes le cas échéant.
Les critères de conception des constructeurs de citernes, les essais et les plaques d’identité du produit n'ont pas été pris en compte dans la présente norme européenne du fait de leurs spécifications dans l’EN 12561-1:2011, « Applications ferroviaires – Wagons citernes - Partie 1 : Plaques d’identité des wagons citernes destinés au transport de matières dangereuses ».
Les marquages relatifs aux matières dangereuses n'ont pas été pris en considération dans la présente norme européenne lorsqu'ils sont intégralement spécifiés dans le RID (dimensions, couleur, emplacement et forme). Lorsque des marquages ne sont pas pleinement spécifiés dans le RID, ils sont alors inclus dans la présente norme.

Železniške naprave - Oznake železniških vozil - 1. del: Tovorni vagoni

Ta evropski standard določa informacije v zvezi s tehničnimi značilnostmi ter značilnostmi delovanja in vzdrževanja, ki morajo biti označene na tovornih vagonih ali delih tovornih vagonov. Določa značilnosti teh oznak, zahteve glede njihove predstavitve, oblike in položaja na vozilu ter njihov pomen. Kadar je primerno, se nekaterim oznakam priložijo opombe. Merila proizvajalcev cistern, preskusi in tablice s specifikacijami niso obravnavani v tem evropskem standardu, ker so določeni v standardu EN 12561-1:2011, Železniške naprave – vagoni-cisterne – 1. del: Označevalne tablice za vagone-cisterne za prevoz nevarnih snovi. Ta evropski standard ne obravnava oznak za nevarne snovi, kadar so v celoti določene v RID (dimenzije, barva, lokacija in oblika). Oznake, ki niso v celoti določene v RID, so vključene v ta standard.

4.1.2 A marking shall be located on the wagon at a position easily visible by staff standing at ground level and presented in a way clearly understandable to persons concerned. If the marking is intended to be read by a person standing at ground level, it should not be located at a level higher than 2 000 mm above the rail SIST EN 15877-1:2012
