Heat-treatable steels, alloy steels and free-cutting steels - Part 3: Case-hardening steels (ISO 683-3:2022)

This document specifies the technical delivery requirements for
—    semi-finished products, hot formed (e.g. blooms, billets, slabs) (see NOTE 1),
—    bars (see NOTE 1),
—    wire rod,
—    finished flat products, and
—    hammer or drop forgings (see NOTE 1)
manufactured from the case-hardening non-alloy or alloy steels listed in Table 3 and supplied in one of the heat-treatment conditions given for the different types of products in Table 1 and in one of the surface conditions given in Table 2.
The steels are, in general, intended for the manufacture of case-hardened machine parts.
NOTE 1   Hammer-forged semi-finished products (blooms, billets, slabs, etc.), seamless rolled rings and hammerforged bars are covered under semi-finished products or bars and not under the term “hammer and drop forgings”.
NOTE 2   For International Standards relating to steels conforming with the requirements for the chemical composition in Table 3, however, supplied in other product forms or treatment conditions than given above or intended for special applications, and for other related International Standards, see the Bibliography.

Dieses Dokument enthält die technischen Lieferbedingungen für
- Halbzeug, warmgeformt, zum Beispiel: Vorblöcke, Knüppel, Brammen (siehe Anmerkung 1),
- Stäbe (siehe Anmerkung 1),
- Walzdraht,
- fertige Flacherzeugnisse,
- Freiform- oder Gesenkschmiedestücke (siehe Anmerkung 1)
hergestellt aus unlegierten und legierten Einsatzstählen nach Tabelle 3, welche in einem der in Tabelle 1 für die verschiedenen Erzeugnisformen angegebenen Wärmebehandlungszustände und in einer der in Tabelle 2 angegebenen Oberflächenausführungen geliefert werden.
Die Stähle sind im Allgemeinen zur Herstellung einsatzgehärteter Maschinenteile vorgesehen.
ANMERKUNG 1 Freiformgeschmiedete Halbzeuge (Blöcke, Knüppel, Brammen usw.), nahtlos gewalzte Ringe und freiform¬geschmiedeter Stabstahl sind im Folgenden unter den Begriffen „Halbzeug“ und „Stabstahl“ und nicht unter dem Begriff „Freiform- und Gesenkschmiedestücke“ erfasst.
ANMERKUNG 2 Bezüglich Internationaler Normen für Stähle, die die chemische Zusammensetzung nach Tabelle 3 erfüllen, die jedoch in anderen Erzeugnisformen oder Wärmebehandlungszuständen als oben angegeben oder für besondere Anwendungen geliefert werden, sowie bezüglich verwandter Internationaler Normen siehe die Literaturhinweise.

Le présent document spécifie les conditions techniques de livraison des
—    demi-produits formés à chaud, comme par exemple les blooms, billettes et brames (voir NOTE 1);
—    barres (voir NOTE 1),
—    fils machine,
—    produits plats finis, et
—    pièces forgées par martelage ou estampage (voir NOTE 1)
fabriqués à partir d'aciers alliés ou non alliés pour cémentation énumérés dans le Tableau 3 et livrés dans l'un des états de traitement thermique donnés pour les différents types de produits dans le Tableau 1 et dans l'un des états de surface donnés dans le Tableau 2.
Les aciers sont en général destinés à la fabrication de pièces mécaniques cémentées.
NOTE 1      Les produits semi-finis forgés par martelage (blooms, billettes, brames, etc.), les anneaux laminés sans soudure et les barres forgées par martelage figurent parmi les produits semi-finis ou les barres, et non sous l'appellation «pièces forgées par martelage ou estampage».
NOTE 2      Pour les Normes internationales relatives aux aciers qui sont conformes aux exigences de composition chimique du Tableau 3, mais fournis sous d’autres formes de produits ou dans des états de traitement autres que ceux indiqués ci-dessus, ou qui sont destinés à des applications spéciales, ainsi que pour d'autres Normes internationales analogues, voir la Bibliographie.

Ta dokument določa tehnične dobavne zahteve za: – vroče oblikovane polizdelke, npr. bloke, palice, plošče (glej OPOMBO 1); – drogove (glej OPOMBO 1); – valjane žice; – končne ploščate izdelke; in – izkovke, kovane z udarnimi kladivi (glej OPOMBO 1), izdelane iz nelegiranih ali legiranih cementacijskih jekel, navedenih v preglednici 3, ter dobavljenih v enem od stanj toplotne obdelave, podanih za različne vrste izdelkov v preglednici 1, in enem od površinskih stanj, podanih v preglednici 2. Jekla so na splošno namenjena za izdelavo cementiranih strojnih delov. OPOMBA 1: S kladivom kovani polizdelki (bloki, palice, plošče itd.), nevarjeni valjani obročki in s kladivom kovani drogovi so zajeti pod polizdelki ali drogovi in ne pod izrazom »izkovki, kovani z udarnimi kladivi«. OPOMBA 2: Za mednarodne standarde v zvezi z jekli, skladnimi z zahtevami za kemično sestavo v preglednici 3, ki pa so dobavljena v drugih oblikah izdelkov ali stanjih obdelave, kot so podani zgoraj, ali namenjena za posebne aplikacije, in za druge povezane mednarodne standarde glej razdelek Literatura.

This document (EN ISO 683-3:2022) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 17 "Steel" in
collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 459/SC 5 “Steels for heat treatment, alloy steels, free-
cutting steels and stainless steels” the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by August 2022, and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by August 2022.
