Resilient floor coverings - Polyvinyl chloride floor coverings on a filled fibrous backing - Specification
This European Standard specifies the characteristics of floor coverings with compact surface layers, made of polyvinyl chloride and modifications thereof, on a filled fibrous backing and supplied in roll form.
To encourage the consumer to make an informed choice, the standard includes a classification system (see EN 685) based on intensity of use, which shows where these floor coverings should give satisfactory service. It also specifies requirement for marking.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Eigenschaften von Bodenbelägen mit einer kompakten Oberschicht auf der Basis von Polyvinylchlorid und dessen Modifikationen mit einem Rücken aus Mineralfasern fest, die in Form von Rollen geliefert werden. Um den Verbraucher bei seiner Auswahl zu unterstützen, enthält diese Norm ein Klassifizierungssystem (siehe EN 685) auf Basis der Nutzungsintensität, das zeigt, wo für diese Bodenbeläge ein zufriedenstellender Nutzen möglich wäre. Die Norm legt auch die Anforderungen zur Kennzeichnung fest.

La présente Norme européenne fixe les caractéristiques des revêtements de sol à couche de surface compacte, à base de polychlorure de vinyle ou de polychlorure de vinyle modifié, sur une semelle en fibre minérale, et livrés sous forme de rouleau.
Pour aider le consommateur à faire son choix, la présente norme inclut un système de classification (voir EN 685) basé sur l'intensité d'utilisation, qui indique l'endroit où ces revêtements de sol devraient pouvoir être utilisés de manière satisfaisante. La présente norme spécifie également les exigences de marquage.
