Textile floor coverings - Classification of rugs and runners
This document specifies the requirements for classification of woven, tufted, knitted, needled, flocked, bonded, hand-tufted rugs and runners into use classes with regard to one or more of the following properties: wear, appearance retention, additional performance properties and classes for luxury rating.
This document is not applicable to hand-knotted rugs and runners, to barrier mats or to bathroom rugs.
This document refers to the classification as defined in EN ISO 10874:2012.

Dieses Dokument legt die Anforderungen an die Einstufung von gewebten, getufteten, gewirkten, genadelten, beflockten, geklebten, handgetufteten Teppichen und Läufern in Gebrauchsklassen bezüglich mindestens einer der folgenden Eigenschaften fest: Verschleiß, Aussehenserhalt, zusätzliche Gebrauchseigenschaften und Luxus-Bewertung.
Dieses Dokument ist nicht anwendbar für handgeknüpfte Teppiche und Läufer, Eingangsmatten oder Badteppiche.
Dieses Dokument bezieht sich auf die Einstufung nach EN ISO 10874:2012.

Le présent document spécifie les exigences relatives au classement des carpettes et passages tissés, touffetés, tricotés, aiguilletés, floqués, nappés, touffetés mains en fonction d'un classement d'usage selon une ou plusieurs des propriétés suivantes : usure, conservation d'aspect, autres caractéristiques de performance et classes de confort.
Le présent document ne s’applique pas aux carpettes faites main, tapis de propreté ou carpettes de bain.
Le présent document se réfère à la classification telle que définie dans l'EN ISO 10874:2012.

This document (EN 14215:2025) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 134 “Resilient,
textile, laminate and modular mechanical locked floor coverings”, the secretariat of which is held by NBN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2026, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by June 2026.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN 14215:2018.
