Protective clothing - Electrostatic properties - Part 5: Material performance and design requirements
This European Standard specifies material and design requirements for electrostatic dissipative protective clothing, including hoods and caps, used as part of a total earthed system, to avoid incendiary discharges, where the minimum ignition energy of an explosive atmosphere is not less than 0,016 mJ.
In the context of this European Standard, a total earthed system is one in which personnel and other conductors are connected to earth via a resistance of less than 108 Ω.
The material and design requirements do not presume adequate earthing of additional equipment worn or carried in contact with clothing, e.g. breathing apparatus, etc. If such additional equipment is required to be earthed, other requirements beyond the scope of this European Standard may be necessary.
The scope of this standard does not include electrostatic dissipative protective gloves or footwear that are separate and not integral parts of garments.
The material and design requirements may not provide sufficient protection in oxygen enriched flammable atmospheres.
NOTE Additional information about oxygen enriched flammable atmospheres can be found in CEN/CLC/TR 16832:2015 [1].
This European Standard is not applicable for protection against mains voltages.

Diese Europäische Norm legt Anforderungen an Materialien und Konstruktion für elektrostatisch ableitfähige Schutzkleidung, einschließlich Hauben und Kappen, die Bestandteil eines vollständig geerdeten Systems zur Vermeidung von zündfähigen Entladungen ist, fest, wo die Mindestzündenergie einer explosionsfähigen Atmosphäre nicht weniger als 0,016 mJ beträgt.
Im Rahmen dieser Europäischen Norm ist ein vollständig geerdetes System definiert als ein System, in dem Personal und andere Leiter über einen Widerstand von weniger als 108 Ω mit der Erde verbunden sind.

Atemschutzgeräte. Falls zusätzliche Ausrüstung geerdet werden muss, können unter Umständen weitere Anforderungen außerhalb des Anwendungsbereichs dieser Europäischen Norm erforderlich sein.
Der Anwendungsbereich dieser Norm beinhaltet keine elektrostatisch ableitfähige Schutzhandschuhe oder elektrostatisch ableitfähiges Schuhwerk, welche separate und nicht integrale Bestandteile der Kleidung sind.
In brennbaren Atmosphären, die mit Sauerstoff angereichert sind, ist es möglich, dass die Anforderungen an Materialien und Konstruktion keinen ausreichenden Schutz bieten.

Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für den Schutz vor Netzspannungen.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie des exigences relatives à la conception et aux matériaux des vêtements de protection de dissipation de charge électrostatique, y compris les capuches et les casquettes, utilisés en tant que partie d'un système complet relié à la terre, pour éviter les décharges incendiaires, lorsque l'énergie minimale d'inflammation d'une atmosphère explosive n'est pas
inférieure à 0,016 mJ.
Dans le contexte de la présente Norme européenne, un système complet relié à la terre est un système dans lequel les personnes et autres conducteurs sont reliés à la terre via une résistance de moins de 108 Ω.
Les exigences qui s'appliquent aux matériaux et à la conception n'impliquent pas que la mise à la terre d'équipements additionnels portés sur les vêtements ou mis en contact avec eux (appareil respiratoire, par exemple) serait adéquate. S'il s'avérait nécessaire de mettre à la terre ce type d'équipement additionnel, il y aurait lieu d'appliquer d'autres exigences, ne relevant pas du domaine d'application de la présente Norme européenne.
Le domaine d'application de la présente norme n'inclut pas les chaussures ni les gants de sécurité de dissipation de charge électrostatique qui sont des éléments distincts ne faisant pas partie intégrante des vêtements.
Il se peut que les exigences relatives aux matériaux et à la conception n'assurent pas une protection suffisante dans les atmosphères inflammables enrichies en oxygène.

La présente Norme européenne n'est pas applicable à la protection contre les risques liés aux différentes tensions électriques.

Ta evropski standard določa zahteve glede materiala in načrtovanja varovalne obleke, ki odvaja elektrostatični naboj in se uporablja kot del povsem ozemljenega sistema, da se izogne razelektritvam z iskrenjem. Zahteve morda ne zadostujejo za področja, obogatena s kisikom in z vnetljivim ozračjem. Ta evropski standard se ne uporablja za zaščito pred omrežno napetostjo.
