Eye and face protection - Sunglasses and related eyewear - Part 1: Sunglasses for general use (ISO 12312-1:2022)

This document is applicable to all afocal (plano power) sunglasses and clip-ons for general use, including road use and driving, intended for protection against solar radiation.
Information on the use of sunglass filters is given in Annex A. Requirements for unmounted filters used as replacement or alternative filters are given in Annex C.
This document is not applicable to:
a) eyewear for protection against radiation from artificial light sources;
b) eye protectors intended for specific sports (e.g. ski goggles or other types – see ISO18527 (all parts));
c) sunglasses that have been medically prescribed for attenuating solar radiation;
d) products intended for direct observation of the sun, such as for viewing a partial or annular solar eclipse, for which ISO12312-2 applies;
e) products intended for occupational eye protection – see, for example, ISO16321 (all parts).

Augen- und Gesichtsschutz - Sonnenbrillen und ähnlicher Augenschutz - Teil 1: Sonnenbrillen für den allgemeinen Gebrauch (ISO 12312-1:2022)

Dieses Dokument ist anzuwenden für alle Sonnenbrillen ohne Korrektionswirkung (mit Nullgläsern) sowie Aufsteckscheiben für den allgemeinen Gebrauch einschließlich dem Autofahren und dem Gebrauch im Straßenverkehr, bestimmt für den Schutz gegen Sonnenstrahlung.
Anhang A gibt Informationen über die Verwendung von Sonnenschutzfiltern. Anforderungen an nicht montierte Sichtscheiben, die als Ersatz  oder Wechselfilter verwendet werden, sind in Anhang C gegeben.
Dieses Dokument ist nicht anzuwenden für:
a)   Augenschutz gegen die Strahlung künstlicher Lichtquellen;
b)   Augenschutzgeräte für bestimmte Sportarten (z. B. Skibrillen oder andere Arten – siehe ISO 18527 [alle Teile]);
c)   Sonnenbrillen, die aus medizinischen Gründen zur Dämpfung von Sonnenstrahlung verschrieben wurden;
d)   Produkte, die für den direkten Blick in die Sonne, z. B. für die Beobachtung einer partiellen oder ringförmigen Sonnenfinsternis, vorgesehen sind, für die ISO 12312 2 gilt;
e)   Produkte für den beruflichen Augenschutz – siehe beispielsweise ISO 16321 (alle Teile).

Le présent document s'applique à toutes les lunettes de soleil afocales (non correctrices) et aux additifs amovibles (clip-ons) d'utilisation générale, y compris par les usagers de la route et pour la conduite automobile, destinés à la protection contre le rayonnement solaire.
Des informations sur l'utilisation des filtres de protection contre les rayonnements solaires sont données dans l'Annexe A. Les exigences relatives aux filtres non montés utilisés comme filtres de remplacement ou complémentaires sont données dans l'Annexe C.
Le présent document ne s'applique pas:
a) aux équipements de protection de l'œil contre les rayonnements des sources de lumière artificielle;
b) aux protecteurs des yeux destinés à des sports particuliers (par exemple, les masques de ski ou autres types – voir l'ISO18527 (toutes les parties));
c) aux lunettes de soleil faisant l'objet d'une prescription médicale pour atténuer le rayonnement solaire;
d) aux produits destinés à l'observation directe du soleil, par exemple pour observer une éclipse solaire partielle ou annulaire, pour lesquels l'ISO12312-2 est applicable;
e) aux produits destinés à la protection des yeux à usage professionnel – voir, par exemple, l'ISO16321 (toutes les parties).

Varovanje oči in obraza - Sončna očala in sorodna oprema za varovanje oči - 1. del: Sončna očala za splošno uporabo (ISO 12312-1:2022)

Ta dokument se uporablja za vsa afokalna (brez korekcije) sončna očala in nastavke za sončna očala za splošno uporabo, tudi za uporabo na cesti in vožnjo, ki so namenjeni zaščiti pred sončnim sevanjem. Informacije o uporabi filtrov sončnih očal so navedene v dodatku A. Zahteve za nevgrajene filtre, ki se uporabljajo kot nadomestni ali alternativni filtri, so podane v dodatku C. This document (EN ISO 12312-1:2022) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 94
"Personal safety -- Personal protective equipment" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC
85 “Eye protective equipment” the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by January 2023, and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by January 2023.
