This European Standard specifies performance requirements and test methods under prescribed laboratory conditions for a sorbent tube used in conjunction with an air sampling pump for the determination of gases and vapours in workplace atmospheres. Annexes recommend additional tests designed to establish whether the performance characteristics of the sampler are affected by a wider range of environmental influences. If a sampler cannot comply with these specifications, its range of applicability needs to be determined and quoted.

Diese Europäische Norm ist anwendbar für Sammelröhrchen, zur indirekten Konzentrationsbestimmung durch Sammlung und Analyse in getrennten Schritten. Diese Sammelröhrchen können eingeteilt werden in: - Sammelröhrchen Typ A, die auf einer Sorption an einer festen Phase und Desorpt. durch ein Lösemittel beruhen; mit nachfolgender Analyse des Desorbats.

La présente Norme Européenne spécifie les exigences de performance et les méthodes d'essai, dans des conditions de laboratoire prescrites, pour un tube à absorption employé conjointement à une pompe d'échantillonnage d'air pour la détermination des gaz et des vapeurs dans l'air des lieux de travail. Les annexes préconisent des essais supplémentaires conçus pour établir si les caractéristiques de performance de l'échantillonneur sont affectées par des influences d'environnement plus variées. Si un échantilloneur ne peut être conforme à ces spécifications, son degré d'application doit être déterminé.
