This document establishes rules for the simplified representation of threaded parts, with the exception of screw thread inserts, which are covered in ISO 6410-2. This representation is applicable when it is not necessary to show the exact shape and details of the parts (see ISO 6410-1), for example in assembly drawings.

This document gives names, symbols, definitions and units for quantities of space and time. Where
appropriate, conversion factors are also given.

This document gives names, symbols and definitions for characteristic numbers used in the description
of transport and transfer phenomena.

This document gives names, symbols, definitions and units for quantities used for light and optical radiation in the wavelength range of approximately 1 nm to 1 mm. Where appropriate, conversion factors are also given.

This document establishes the types of lines used in technical drawings (e.g. diagrams, plans or
maps), their designations and their configurations, as well as general rules for the draughting of lines.
In addition, this document specifies general rules for the representation of leader and reference lines
and their components as well as for the arrangement of instructions on or at leader lines in technical
documents. Annexes have been provided for specific information on mechanical, construction and
shipbuilding technical drawings.
For the purposes of this document the term “technical drawing” is interpreted in the broadest
possible sense encompassing the total package of documentation specifying the product (workpiece,
subassembly, assembly).

This document specifies the general principles for presenting views, sections and cuts applicable to
various kinds of technical drawings (e.g. mechanical, electrical, architectural, civil engineering),
following the orthographic projection methods specified in ISO 5456-2. Views and sections for
shipbuilding technical drawings are discussed in ISO 128-15. Views and sections for 3D models are
discussed in ISO 16792.
Attention has also been given in this document to the requirements of reproduction, including
microcopying in accordance with ISO 6428.

This document gives general rules for the execution of technical drawings (2D and 3D), as well
as presenting the structure of the other parts of the ISO 128 series. This document is applicable to
technical drawing in the fields of mechanical engineering, construction, architecture and shipbuilding.
It is applicable to both manual and computer-based technical drawings.
For the purpose of this document the term “technical drawing” shall be interpreted in the broadest
possible sense, encompassing the total package of documentation specifying the product (workpiece,
subassembly, assembly).

This document presents an index of the terms used in the ISO 128 series in English, French, German,
Chinese, Russian and Japanese.

The ISO 7000 database provides a collection of graphical symbols which are placed on equipment or parts of equipment of any kind in order to instruct the person(s) using the equipment as to its operation. Each graphical symbol is identified by a reference number and contains a title, graphical representations in vectorized and non-vectorized formats, and some additional data as applicable, such as the function or the description of the symbol, the intended use, related symbols or publications. Various search and navigation facilities allow for easy retrieval of graphical symbols.

This document prescribes safety signs for the purposes of accident prevention, fire protection, health hazard information and emergency evacuation.
The shape and colour of each safety sign are according to ISO 3864‑1 and the design of the graphical symbols is according to ISO 3864‑3.
This document is applicable to all locations where safety issues related to people need to be addressed. However, it is not applicable to the signalling used for guiding rail, road, river, maritime and air traffic and, in general, to those sectors subject to a regulation which may differ with regard to certain points of this document and of the ISO 3864 series.

EN-ISO 80000-8 gives names, symbols, definitions and units for quantities of acoustics. Where appropriate, conversion factors are also given.

EN-ISO 6414 establishes rules and conventions for particular use with technical drawings on glassware, for example, laboratory glassware or glassware used in other technical fields.Optical parts are not, however, included herein.

physics. Where appropriate, conversion factors are also given.

EN-ISO 129-1 establishes the general principles for presentation of dimensions and associated tolerances that apply to 2D technical drawings in all disciplines and trades but which can also be applied to 3D applications. This document does not cover the application of dimensional tolerances and their meaning. See ISO 14405-1 for tolerancing principles. This document can only be used to describe the nominal model of a drawing, not the non-ideal surface model (skin model) used for tolerancing purposes (for more information on tolerancing specifications, see the list of GPS standards listed as normative reference or as bibliography) Considering the ISO 14405 series, the presentation of tolerance indication is unambiguous when it is applied to a dimension which is a size and ambiguous when the dimension is not a size. All rules presented in this document are available for any type of drawing (see ISO 29845). In addition, this document introduces the concept of property indicators, developed length, between, surface indicators, flag notes and textual instructions.

and applications.
This document is intended mainly for use in the natural sciences and technology, but also applies to
other areas where mathematics is used.

This document gives names, symbols, definitions and units for quantities of condensed matter physics.

This document specifies rules for the indication and dimensioning of undefined edges in technical product and dimensions. This International Standard specifies a series of relief grooves for shafts and holes, intended for general use in mechanical engineering.
It also intends to avoid unnecessary multiplicity of tools by a restricted selection of groove-types and dimensional versions.
NOTE The shape and the dimensions of the relief grooves type G and H correspond with the “Indexable hard material inserts” according to ISO 6987.

This document gives names, symbols, definitions and units for quantities of mechanics. Where
appropriate, conversion factors are also given.

This document lays down rules for the representation of modular sizes, lines and grids on construction
drawings. The basic module M is 100 mm (see ISO 1006).
Generally, modular sizes are for use on design drawings, but can also be added to production drawings
for manufacturing, orientation and location.

This document specifies the rules and graphical symbols for the representations of splines and
serrations in technical product documentation.
Two methods of representation are specified:
a) complete representation;
b) simplified representation.
The rules and graphical symbols specified in this document are applicable to detail drawings of parts
(shafts and hubs) and to assembly drawings of joints.
NOTE For uniformity, all the figures in this document have been drawn in the first-angle orthographic
projection. A third-angle orthographic projection could equally have been used without prejudice to principles
established.

This document specifies supplementary rules, in addition to the general rules given in ISO 6412-1,
applicable to isometric representation. Isometric representation is used where it is necessary to show
the essential features clearly in three dimensions.

This document specifies simplified representations used in technical drawings for terminal features of
ventilation and drains in pipeline systems.

This document specifies rules and conventions for the execution of simplified drawings for the
representation of all kinds of pipes and pipelines made of all sorts of materials (rigid and flexible).
It is used whenever it is necessary to represent pipes or pipelines in a simplified manner.
For the purposes of this document, the figures illustrate the text only and should not be considered as
design examples.
NOTE This document can also be used for the representation of similar installations, such as ventilation or
air-conditioning systems; in such cases, the term "duct", etc. is substituted for the term "pipe".

This document covers the organization and allocation of layers for CAD on construction projects for the
purposes of communication and management.

This document establishes the general principles of layer structuring within CAD files. Layers are used
to control visibility and to manage and communicate CAD file data. Layer names are used to represent
this structure.
The principles are applicable to all parties involved in preparing and using technical documentation on computer systems. Although these principles are primarily for users, CAD system developers are expected to provide software tools capable of implementing and supporting this document. An important use is also to structure data in component libraries produced by third parties.

This part of ISO 9177 specifies classification, dimensions, performance requirements and testing for
hand-held mechanical pencils used for technical drawings.

This document establishes additional principles to ISO 3864-1 for the design of safety labels for
products, i.e. any items manufactured and offered for sale in the normal course of commerce, including
but not limited to consumer products and industrial equipment. The purpose of a product safety label is
to alert persons to a specific hazard and to identify how the hazard can be avoided.
This document is applicable to all products in all industries where safety-related questions can be
posed. However, it is not applicable to safety labels used
— for chemicals,
— for the transport of dangerous substances and preparations and
— in those sectors subject to legal regulations which differ from certain provisions of this document.
The design principles incorporated in this document are intended to be used by all ISO Technical
Committees and anyone designing product safety labels in the development of product safety label
standards for their industries or services.

This part of ISO 128 defines two projection methods used in building drawings, namely
— direct orthographic projection method and
— mirrored orthographic projection method,
and also provides the symbols applicable for each method.

This International Standard establishes and defines terms used in technical product documentation relating to technical drawings, product definition and related documentation in all fields of application.
This vocabulary is based on all terms contained within ISO/TC 10 standards and other documents that are relevant to technical product documentation irrespective of disciplines. The terms have been classified into specific fields of application. New terms required by ISO/TC 10 Subcommittees and  Working Groups for new or revised standards will be ratified by the ISO/TC 10 vocabulary maintenance
team and included in future amendments of this International Standard.
NOTE 1 Annex A contains a list of terms and definitions which previously appeared in former parts of ISO 10209 and for which there are now new definitions in current ISO/TC 10 standards.
NOTE 2 In addition to terms and definitions used in English and French, two of the three official ISO languages, this document gives the equivalent terms in German; these are published under the  responsibility of the member body for Germany (DIN), and are given for information only. This part of ISO 3098 specifies the general requirements for lettering, in accordance with the other parts
of ISO 3098, to be used in technical product documentation (in particular on technical drawings). It
includes basic conventions as well as rules for the application of lettering using the following techniques:
a) free-hand lettering (by means of an underlaid “grid”);
b) templates and manual lettering instruments;
c) dry transfer systems;
d) numerically controlled lettering and draughting systems.

This part of ISO 10628 specifies the classification, content, and representation of flow diagrams. In
addition, it lays down drafting rules for flow diagrams for chemical and petrochemical industry.
This International Standard does not apply to electrical engineering diagrams. This part of ISO 10628 is
a collective application standard of ISO 15519.

This International Standard specifies requirements to reduce the risk of asphyxiation from caps
for writing and marking instruments. It relates to such instruments which in normal or foreseeable
circumstances are likely to be used by children up to the age of 14 years.
This International Standard is not applicable to the following:
— writing and marking instruments which are designed or only intended for use by adults, e.g. jewellery
pens, expensive fountain pens, professional technical pens;
— transit caps for refills.

In IEC 80000-6:2008, names, symbols, and definitions for quantities and units of electromagnetism are given. Where appropriate, conversion factors are also given. International Standard IEC 80000-6 has been prepared by IEC technical committee 25: Quantities and units, and their letter symbols in close cooperation with ISO/TC 12, Quantities, units, symbols, conversion factors. This first edition of IEC 80000-6 cancels and replaces the second edition of ISO 31-5, published in 1992, and its amendment 1 (1998).

ISO 80000-1 gives general information and definitions concerning quantities, systems of quantities, units, quantity and unit symbols, and coherent unit systems, especially the International System of Quantities, ISQ, and the International System of Units, SI. The principles laid down in ISO 80000-1 are intended for general use within the various fields of science and technology, and as an introduction to other parts of this International Standard. Ordinal quantities and nominal properties are outside the scope of ISO 80000-1.

This part of ISO 3864 gives principles, criteria and guidance for the design of graphical symbols for use in safety signs as defined in ISO 3864-1 and for the safety sign element of product safety labels as defined in ISO 3864-2.

This part of ISO 10628 defines graphical symbols for the preparation of diagrams for the chemical and petrochemical industry. It is a collective application standard of the ISO 14617 series. This part of ISO 10628 does not apply to graphical symbols for electrotechnical diagrams; for these, see IEC 60617.

This International Standard establishes and defines terms used in technical product documentation relating to technical drawings, product definition and related documentation in all fields of application. This International Standard gives rules for the presentation of part references in assembly representations,
e.g. on assembly drawings, in order to identify the constituent parts in a related parts list.

This part of ISO 3864 establishes the colorimetric and photometric requirements and test methods for the colours of safety signs to be used in workplaces and public areas. It provides the colorimetric and photometric specifications for the named safety and contrast colours prescribed in ISO 3864-1. The physical requirements that safety signs have to meet are primarily related to daytime colour and normally lit environments. This part of ISO 3864 also includes the colorimetric requirements and test methods for safety signs and phosphorescent material which also operate in unlit environments. This part of ISO 3864 is applicable to all locations where safety issues related to people need to be addressed. However, it is not applicable to signalling used for guiding rail, road, river, maritime and air traffic and, generally speaking, to those sectors subject to a regulation that may differ. The colorimetric and photometric properties of retroreflective safety signs, retroreflective materials combined with fluorescent or phosphorescent materials, or luminous safety signs activated by a radioactive source are not specified in this part of ISO 3864.

This part of ISO 3864 establishes the safety identification colours and design principles for safety signs and safety markings to be used in workplaces and in public areas for the purpose of accident prevention, fire protection, health hazard information and emergency evacuation. It also establishes the basic principles to be
applied when developing standards containing safety signs. This part of ISO 3864 is applicable to all locations where safety issues related to people need to be addressed.
However, it is not applicable to the signalling used for guiding rail, road, river, maritime and air traffic and, generally speaking, to those sectors subject to a regulation which may differ.

This International Standard specifies terms and definitions commonly used in the metal springs industry. Specifically, these terms appear in technical product documentation. Heat-treatment and surface-treatment terms pertinent to springs are included. Terms are grouped into the following seven categories: a) general features of springs; b) application of springs in machinery and engineering; c) layout and nomenclature of springs; d) specification requirements; e) design and calculation; f) manufacturing and processing; g) testing and inspection. The hierarchical structure of terminology in each category is given in Annex B.

This International Standard provides minimum requirements for parts lists to provide necessary information, e.g. for the production, procurement or maintenance of the parts. This International Standard covers manual as well as computer-generated parts lists.
