IEC 62679-2:2018(E) is restricted to electronic paper display (EPD) modules that show information by reflection, can hold an image, and can have an integrated lighting unit. This document specifies the essential ratings and characteristics of EPD modules for the evaluation of optical and electro-optical performances, and environmental testing.

IEC TR 62679-5-1:2017, which is a technical report, specifies the legibility in terms of contrast, spatial frequency, and reflection of the screen as a function of the physical parameters of an electronic paper display (EPD). This legibility evaluation model is introduced through both subjective and objective assessments. The scope of this document is restricted to EPDs using segment, passive, and active matrixes with monochromatic type displays.

IEC 62679-3-3:2016(E) specifies the standard measurement conditions and measurement methods for determining the optical performance of electronic paper display (EPD) devices which have an operating integrated lighting unit (such as a front light). The scope of this document is restricted to EPDs using segmented or matrix structures with either monochromatic or colour type displays. The measurement methods are intended for EPDs operated in a reflective mode with the integrated lighting unit (ILU) turned on in a dark or indoor ambient lighting environment. Colour systems beyond three primaries are not covered in this document.

IEC 62679-4-2:2016(E) specifies the environmental conditions to determine the environmental reliability of electronic paper display (EPD) panels and/or modules for storage under the assumed usage environment. The scope of this document is restricted to EPDs using either segment, passive, or active matrix with either monochromatic or colour type displays. The measuring methods are intended for EPDs operated in a reflective mode.

IEC 62679-1-1:2014 gives the preferred terms, their definitions, as well as the symbols for electronic paper displays (EPDs).

IEC 62679-3-1:2014 specifies the standard measurement conditions and measurement methods for determining the optical performance of Electronic Paper Display (EPDs). The scope of this document is restricted to EPDs using either segment, passive, or active matrix with either monochromatic or colour type displays. The measuring methods are intended for EPDs operated in a reflective mode. The EPDs may include an integrated lighting unit (ILU), but the ILU will be turned off for these measuring methods. Colour systems beyond three primaries are not covered in this document.

IEC 62679-3-2:2013 is restricted to electronic paper display modules using either segment, passive, or active matrix, and either monochromatic, or colour type displays. In order to achieve a useful and uniform description of the performance of these devices, specifications for commonly accepted relevant parameters are put forward. The purpose of IEC 62679-3-2 is to indicate and list the procedure-dependent parameters and to prescribe the specific methods and conditions that are to be used for their uniform numerical determination.
