CEN/TC 165/WG 43 - Wastewater treatment plants; General requirements and special processes

Part 12 will standardize the basic requirements to control odour in large waste water treatment plants.

This European Standard defines terms for wastewater treatment. However, it is not totally complete with a small number of terms still requiring to be defined.
The aim of this European Standard is to establish a standardized terminology in the field of wastewater treatment in the three official languages of CEN: German, English and French.
The terms defined in this standard will be the basis for the elaboration of corresponding product and performance standards and can be stated more precisely in specific standards.

This standard is for the protection of employees and defines safety requirements for wastewater treatment plants to be constructed or reconstructed as follows: - for structures and parts of structures where safety factors have to be taken into account; - all components of the technical equipment, as far as safety requirements have to be observed in the planning and construction of these parts of the plant.

This standard defines terms for wastewater treatment. Bearing in mind the requirement to produce a series of definitions to assist other CEN wording groups in the general area of wastewater engineering, this standard has been produced as quickly as possible.
