Plastics piping systems for non-pressure underground drainage and sewerage - Polypropylene with mineral modifiers (PP-MD) - Part 2: Assessment of conformity
This document gives guidance and requirements for the assessment of conformity of compounds/formulations, products, joints and assemblies in accordance with the applicable part(s) of EN 14758 intended to be included in the manufacturer’s quality plan as part of the quality management system and for the establishment of certification procedures.
NOTE 1 A basic test matrix provides an overview of the testing scheme in Annex A, Table A.1.
NOTE 2 If certification is involved, the certification body operating according to EN ISO/IEC 17065 [1] and EN ISO/IEC 17020 [2] is considered to be competent.
In conjunction with EN 14758-1, this document is applicable to solid wall pipes and fittings with or without internal and/or external skin and the system made of mineral modified polypropylene materials (PP-MD) intended to be used for non-pressure underground drainage and sewerage:
- outside the building structure (application area code “U”); and
- for both buried in ground within the building structure and outside the building structure (application area code “UD”).

Dieses Dokument enthält die Anforderungen und gibt Empfehlungen für die Beurteilung der Konformität von Formmassen/Zusammensetzungen, Erzeugnissen, Verbindungen und Bauteilkombinationen, die in Übereinstimmung mit den/dem entsprechenden Teil(en) von EN 14758 für eine Einbeziehung in den Qualitätssicherungsplan des Herstellers als Teil des Qualitätsmanagementsystems und für die Erstellung von Zertifizierungsverfahren vorgesehen sind.
ANMERKUNG 1 In Anhang A, Tabelle A.1, ist eine grundlegende Prüfmatrix enthalten, die einen Überblick über das Prüfsystem bietet.
ANMERKUNG 2 Wenn eine Zertifizierung einbezogen ist, wird die in Übereinstimmung mit EN ISO/IEC 17065 [1] bzw. EN ISO/IEC 17020 [2] arbeitende Zertifizierungsstelle als kompetent angesehen.
Dieses Dokument ist in Verbindung mit EN 14758 1 anwendbar für Vollwandrohre und Formstücke mit oder ohne dünne Innen- und/oder Außenschicht und das aus Polypropylen mit mineralischen Additiven (PP MD) hergestellte System, die bzw. das für drucklose erdverlegte Abwasserkanäle und leitungen vorgesehen sind bzw. ist:
außerhalb der Gebäudestruktur (Anwendungskennzeichen „U“); und
für Erdverlegung sowohl innerhalb der Gebäudestruktur als auch außerhalb der Gebäudestruktur (Anwendungskennzeichen „UD“).

This Technical Specification (CEN/TS) was approved by CEN on 14 April 2025 for provisional application.
The period of validity of this CEN/TS is limited initially to three years. After two years the members of CEN will be requested to
submit their comments, particularly on the question whether the CEN/TS can be converted into a European Standard.

Introduction
This document is based on the template prepared in CEN/TC 155/WG 21, Edition 6 (see document
CEN/TC 155/WG 21 N1124).
This document details the applicable characteristics to be assessed for type testing (TT), batch release
test (BRT), process verification test (PVT), and audit test (AT), as well as the frequency and sampling for
testing.
The concept of testing and organization of those tests used for the assessment of conformity (AoC) is
shown, without or with certification, in Figures 1 and 2.

1 Scope
This document gives guidance and requirements for the assessment of conformity of
compounds/formulations, products, joints and assemblies in accordance with the applicable part(s) of
EN 14758 intended to be included in the manufacturer’s quality plan as part of the quality management
system and for the establishment of certification procedures.

4 Abbreviated terms

5 General
Materials, products and fitness for purpose shall conform to the requirements given in EN 14758-1.
Materials and products shall be produced by the manufacturer under a quality management system
which includes a quality plan.
6 Testing
6.1 Group
For the purposes of this document, the groups specified below apply.
Four size groups are defined for pipes and fittings, as given in Table 1.

Three groups of fittings each having a similar design are defined, as given in Table 2.

Push fit fittings and fusion fittings shall be considered separately for each group.
6.2 Type testing
6.2.1 General
Type tests are intended to demonstrate the ability of the product to fulfil the intended use and
characteristics detailed in the referring product standard.
Type tests shall demonstrate that the products conform to all requirements for the characteristics given
in Table 3 to Table 5, as applicable.
Type tests shall be performed as described in Table 3 to Table 5 whenever there is:
a) a new system (N);
b) a change in design (D);
c) a change in material (M) (see 6.2.2);
d) a change in production processing method (P), other than routine in-process adjustments;
e) an extension of the product range (E).
When a change of production site occurs, the manufacturer shall determine which type tests need to be
revalidated.
Unless any of the conditions a) to e) above occurs, the type test results remain valid.
A type test may be performed by the manufacturer or outsourced on behalf of the manufacturer.
