ETSIETSIEN300720-1V1.2.1(2000-08)147Environmentaltests7.1ProcedureEnvironmentaltestsshallbecarriedoutbeforeanyothertestsofthesameequipmentinrespecttotheotherrequirementsofthepresentdocumentareperformed.Thetestsshallbecarriedoutintheordertheyappearinthepresentdocument.Unlessotherwisestated,theequipmentshallbeconnectedtoanelectricalpowersourceduringtheperiodsforwhichitisspecifiedthatelectricaltestsshallbecarriedout.Thesetestsshallbeperformedusingnormaltestvoltageandononechannelonly.7.2PerformancecheckForthepurposeofthepresentdocument,theterm"performancecheck"shallbetakentomean:-forthetransmitter:-carrierfrequency:-withthetransmitterconnectedtoanartificialantenna(seesubclause6.5),thetransmittershallbekeyedwithoutmodulation.Thecarrierfrequencyshallbewithin±2,3kHzofthenominalcarrierfrequency;-outputpower:-withthetransmitterconnectedtoanartificialantenna(seesubclause6.5),thetransmittershallbekeyedwithoutmodulation.Withtheoutputpowerswitchsetatmaximum,theoutputpowershallbebetween0,4Wand4W;-forthereceiver:-maximumusablesensitivity:-atestsignalatthenominalfrequencyofthereceivermodulatedwithnormaltestmodulation(seesubclause6.4)shallbeappliedtothereceiverinput.TheleveloftheinputsignalshallbeadjusteduntiltheSINADattheoutputofthereceiveris20dBandtheoutputpowerisatleasttheratedoutputpower(seesubclause9.1.3).Theleveloftheinputsignalshallbelessthan+12dBµV.7.3Droptestontoahardsurface7.3.1DefinitionTheimmunityagainsttheeffectsofdroppingistheabilityoftheequipmenttomaintainthespecifiedmechanicalandelectricalperformanceafterbeingsubjectedtoaseriesofdropsonahardwoodentestsurface.7.3.2MethodofmeasurementThehardwoodentestsurfaceshallconsistofapieceofsolidhardwoodwithaminimumthicknessof15cmandamassof30kgormore.Thetestshallconsistofaseriesof6drops,oneoneachsurfaceoftheequipment.Duringthetesttheequipmentshallbefittedwithasuitablesetofbatteriesandantennabutitshallbeswitchedoff.Thetestshallbecarriedoutundernormaltemperatureandhumidityconditions.Theheightofthelowestpartoftheequipmentundertestrelativetothetestsurfaceatthemomentofreleaseshallbe1m.SIST EN 300 720-1 V1.2.1:2003
ETSIETSIEN300720-1V1.2.1(2000-08)15Iftheequipmentistobeusedwith,forexample,aseparatemicrophoneand/orloudspeaker,thetestshallbecarriedoutforthoseaccessoriesseparately.Followingthetest,theequipmentshallbesubjectedtoaperformancecheck.7.3.3RequirementTherequirementfortheperformancecheckshallbemet.7.4Temperaturetests7.4.1GeneralThemaximumrateofraisingorreducingthetemperatureofthechamberinwhichtheequipmentisbeingtestedshallbe1°C/minute.7.4.2Dryheat7.4.2.1MethodofmeasurementTheequipmentshallbeplacedinachamberofnormaltemperature.Thetemperatureshallthenberaisedtoandmaintainedat+70°C(±3°C)foraperiodofatleast10hours.Afterthisperiodanyclimaticcontroldeviceprovidedintheequipmentmaybeswitchedonandthechambercooledto55°C(±3°C).Thecoolingofthechambershallbecompletedwithin30minutes.Theequipmentshallthenbeswitchedonandshallbekeptworkingcontinuouslyforaperiodoftwohours.Thetransmittershallbekeyedwithadutycycleofoneminutetransmissionandfourminutesreception.Theequipmentshallbesubjectedtoaperformancecheckduringthetwo-hourperiod.Thetemperatureofthechambershallbemaintainedat+55°C(±3°C)duringthetwo-hourperiod.Attheendofthetest,andwiththeequipmentstillinthechamber,thechambershallbebroughttoroomtemperatureinnotlessthanonehour.Theequipmentshallthenbeexposedtonormalroomtemperatureandhumidityfornotlessthanthreehoursbeforethenexttestiscarriedout.7.4.2.2RequirementTherequirementfortheperformancecheckshallbemet.7.4.3Dampheat7.4.3.1MethodofmeasurementTheequipmentshallbeplacedinachamberatnormalroomtemperatureandhumiditywhich,steadily,overaperiodthreehours(±30minutes),shallbeheatedfromroomtemperatureto+40°C(±3°C)andshallduringthisperiodbebroughttoarelativehumidityof93%(±2%)sothatexcessivecondensationisavoided.30minuteslatertheequipmentshallbeswitchedon,andshallthenbekeptworkingcontinuouslyforaperiodoftwohours.Thetransmittershallbekeyedwithadutycycleofoneminutetransmissionandfourminutesreception.Theequipmentshallbesubjectedtoaperformancecheckduringthetwo-hourperiod.Thetemperatureandrelativehumidityofthechambershallbemaintainedat+40°C±3°Cand93%±2%duringthetwo-hour,30minutesperiod.Attheendofthetest,andwiththeequipmentstillinthechamber,thechambershallbebroughttoroomtemperatureinnotlessthanonehour.Theequipmentshallthenbeexposedtonormalroomtemperatureandhumidityfornotlessthanthreehours,oruntilmoisturehasdispersed,whicheverislonger,beforethenexttestiscarriedout.SIST EN 300 720-1 V1.2.1:2003
