Safety of industrial trucks - Driverless trucks and their systems

This European Standard applies to all trucks and their systems except: a) trucks solely guided by mechanical means (rails, guides, etc); b) trucks operating in areas open to persons unaware of the hazards. For the purpose of this standard,  a driverless industrial truck is a powered vehicle, including any trailers designed to travel automatically in which the safety of operation does not depend on an operator. Remote controlled trucks are not considered driverless trucks.

Diese Norm findet auf alle fahrerlosen Flurförderzeuge und ihre Systeme Anwendung, ausgenommen a) Flurförderzeuge, die ausschließlich durch mechanische Einrichtungen (Schienen, Führungen usw.) geführt werden; b) Flurförderzeuge, die im Bereich öffentlichen Verkehrs eingesetzt sind, in dem sich Personen aufhalten können, die die entsprechenden Gefährdungen nicht kennen.

La présente norme s'applique à tous les chariots industriels et leurs systèmes, à l'exception: a) des chariots guidés par des moyens mécaniques (rails, guides, etc), b) des chariots fonctionnant dans des zones accessibles aux personnes ignorant les risques. Pour les besoins de la présente norme européenne, un chariot de manutention sans conducteur est un véhicule à moteur, incluant toute remorque, conçu de manière à pouvoir se déplacer automatiquement dans des lieux où la sécurité de fonctionnement ne dépend pas d'un opérateur.
