This draft amendment prAA, if approved, will modify the European Standard prEN IEC 60335-2-50:2026; it is submitted to CENELEC
members for enquiry.
Deadline for CENELEC: 2026-10-02.
It has been drawn up by CLC/TC 61.
If this draft becomes an amendment, CENELEC members are bound to comply with the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations which
stipulate the conditions for giving this amendment the status of a national standard without any alteration.
This draft amendment was established by CENELEC in three official versions (English, French, German).
A version in any other language made by translation under the responsibility of a CENELEC member into its own language and notified to
the CEN-CENELEC Management Centre has the same status as the official versions.

35 prEN IEC 60335-2-50:2026/prAA:2026 includes the following significant technical modifications:
36 — introduce requirements and instruction for children, People with disabilities and domestic animals;
37 — introduced the usage of test probe B in area open to the public;
38 — introduced requirements for Fluid Category in accordance with EN 61770;
39 — introduced requirements for hygiene.
40 This document is read in conjunction with prEN IEC 60335-2-50:2026 and
41 prEN IEC 60335-2-50/prA1:2026.
42 This document has been prepared under a standardization request addressed to CENELEC by the
43 European Commission. The Standing Committee of the EFTA State subsequently approves these requests
44 for its Member States.

96 “For appliances intended to be used in the area open to the public, the instructions shall state the
97 substance of the following:
98 — This appliance may be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack
99 of experience and knowledge, when they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use
100 of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
101 — This appliance may be used by children from the age 8 years if they are continuously supervised.
102 — Children and domestic animals should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
103 — Keep the appliance out of reach of domestic animals and children aged less than 8 years.
104 — Check that there are no domestic animals inside the compartment/cavity of the appliance before use.
105 — Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be carried out by children.
106 For other appliances, the instructions shall state the substance of the following:
107 — This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities,
108 or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction
109 concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.”
110 In the addition, replace “The manufacturer shall declare” with “In the instruction shall be declared”.
111 In the addition, add after “IEC 60417-5021 (2002-10)” the following: “, ISO 7000-0434A (2004-01)”.
