IEC 62779-3:2016 defines a functional type of a semiconductor interface for human body communication (HBC). This part includes the categorization of the interface for HBC according to the contact condition; and performance parameters characterizing the interface of each category.

Ta del skupine standardov IEC 62779 določa funkcijski tip polprevodniškega vmesnika za komuniciranje človeškega telesa (HBC). Vmesnik za komuniciranje človeškega telesa vključuje elektrodo, tj. fizično strukturo za oddajanje podatkovnega signala v človeško telo ali sprejemanje oddajanega podatkovnega signala iz telesa. Elektroda je v številnih primerih v neposrednem stiku s človeškim telesom, ne more pa ohranjati stanja stika, kadar je med vmesnikom in telesom predmet (npr. obleka) ali kadar je potrebna komunikacija bližnjega polja. Odvisno od stanja stika je tako mogoče vmesnik za komuniciranje s človeškim telesom opredeliti kot stični ali brezstični, kot je prikazano na sliki 1. Ta del vključuje opredelitev vmesnika za komuniciranje s človeškim telesom v skladu s stanjem stika in razvrstitev parametrov zmogljivosti, ki označujejo vmesnik posamezne kategorije.

1) The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a worldwide organization for standardization comprising

INTRODUCTION
The IEC 62779 series is composed of three parts as follows:
• IEC 62779-1 defines general requirements of a semiconductor interface for human body
communication. It includes general and functional specifications of the interface.
• IEC 62779-2 defines a measurement method on electrical performances of an electrode
that constructs a semiconductor interface for human body communication.
• IEC 62779-3 defines functional type of a semiconductor interface for human body
communication, and operational conditions of the interface.
