This document supersedes EN 50110-2:2010 and all of its amendments and corrigenda (if any).

Introduction
The European Standard EN 50110 series consists of two parts:
— the first part, EN 50110-1, contains minimum requirements valid for all CENELEC countries and some
additional informative annexes dealing with safe working;
— the second part, FprEN 50110-2, is a set of national annexes (one per country) which specify either the
additional present safety requirements or give the national supplements to these minimum requirements at
the time when this European Standard was prepared.
The national annexes are summarized by the respective member country.
National Committees shall notify CENELEC of any changes needed to their national annex.
For users understanding, it is important to publish this standard in all official CENELEC languages (English,
French and German) (see also the footnotes Nr. 1 to 4). In effect, every clause in the following example of structure
for each national annex which is marked by index 2 and 4 “Written in all official CENELEC languages…” will be
translated accordingly.
To reduce effort, every national Committee is recommended to prepare these clauses in their own national annex
in English. The French and German translations will be provided by CENELEC with publishing.

installations or in their vicinity.
Clauses of the French Labour Code implemented by Decree 2010-1118 of 22 September 2010 and revised by
Decree 2016-1318 of 5 October 2016, setting out requirements for the protection of workers who work on or near
electrical installations.
They set requirements for preventive measures in order to eliminate electrical risks or at least reducing them as
much as possible. Dead work is mandatory unless it appears from the risk assessment that it is not technically
feasible or if it creates situations that are even more dangerous.

implements the Clause R.4544-3 of the French Labour Code, stating that NF C 18-510 dated January 2012 is the
standard recommended for the work activity on or near electrical installations and NF C 18-550 dated August
2015 is the standard recommended for the work activity on vehicles and motor vehicles with combustion, electrical
and hybrid engines.

11.2.1. Norme NF C 18-510 de Janvier 2012 — Opérations sur les ouvrages et installations électriques et dans
un environnement électrique – préventions du risque électrique et son amendement A1 de février 2020
11.2.1.1. Standard NF C 18-510 (21 January 2012) Work activities on electrical network and installations and
in an electrical environment – Electrical risk prevention and its amendment A1 of February 2020
11.2.1.2. (For Public transmission, distribution electrical networks and industrial, commercial or household
installations). This national standard follows the requirements of the above-mentioned decrees. It follows the
requirements of EN 50110 in the context of the French regulation. In relation with Clause R.4544-3 of the French
Labour Code, it describes the working procedures and the risk assessment to be done before any work activity.
It gives guidance to the employer for the training of personnel and issue of the relevant electrical certificate of
qualification.
