This draft amendment prAA, if approved, will modify the European Standard prEN IEC 61643-01; it is submitted to CENELEC members for
enquiry.
Deadline for CENELEC: 2024-01-26.
It has been drawn up by CLC/TC 37A.
If this draft becomes an amendment, CENELEC members are bound to comply with the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations which
stipulate the conditions for giving this amendment the status of a national standard without any alteration.
This draft amendment was established by CENELEC in three official versions (English, French, German).
A version in any other language made by translation under the responsibility of a CENELEC member into its own language and notified to
the CEN-CENELEC Management Centre has the same status as the official versions.

18 This document (prEN IEC 61643-01:2023/prAA:2023) has been prepared by Technical Committee
19 CLC/TC 37A “Low voltage surge protective devices”.
20 This document is currently submitted to the Enquiry.

22 Clauses, subclauses, notes, tables, figures and annexes which are additional to those in

24 This document has been prepared under a standardization request addressed to CENELEC by the European
25 Commission. The Standing Committee of the EFTA States subsequently approves these requests for its
26 Member States.

49 continuous current. Other methods, like pre-testing of components before final assembly, can also be
50 accepted.”
