IEC 61512-3:2008 on Batch Control defines a model for general and site recipes; the activities that describe the use of general and site recipes within a company and across companies; a representation of general and site recipes; and a data model of general and site recipes. This first edition cancels and replaces IEC/PAS 61512-3, published in 2004.

This European Standard was approved by CENELEC on 2008-08-01. CENELEC members are bound to comply
with the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations which stipulate the conditions for giving this European Standard
the status of a national standard without any alteration.

Foreword
The text of document 65A/496/CDV, future edition 1 of IEC 61512-3, prepared by SC 65A, System
aspects, of IEC TC 65, Industrial-process measurement, control and automation, was submitted to the
IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and was approved by CENELEC as EN 61512-3 on 2008-08-01.
EN 61512-3 is to be used in conjunction with EN 61512-1 and EN 61512-2.
The following dates were fixed:
– latest date by which the EN has to be implemented
at national level by publication of an identical
national standard or by endorsement (dop) 2009-05-01
– latest date by which the national standards conflicting
with the EN have to be withdrawn (dow) 2011-08-01
Annex ZA has been added by CENELEC.
