EN IEC 61326:2021/prAA:2023 includes the following significant technical changes with respect to
EN IEC 61326-1:2021:
— Update of immunity requirements
— Update of performance criterion
— Update of emission requirements
This document has been prepared under a standardization request addressed to CENELEC by the European
Commission. The Standing Committee of the EFTA States subsequently approves these requests for its
Member States.
For the relationship with EU Legislation, see informative Annex ZZ, which is an integral part of this document.
Introduction
The purpose of this amendment is to identify and modify the requirements that would not fit the EMCD
requirements, so that the amendment could be harmonized under this Directive.
1 Modification to Introduction
Replace the last paragraph with:
“This part of EN 61326 specifies the EMC requirements that are generally applicable to all equipment within its
scope. For certain types of equipment, these requirements will be supplemented or modified by the special
requirements of one, or more than one, particular part EN 61326-2 (all parts). EN 61326-2 (all parts) should be
read in conjunction with the EN 61326-1 requirements.
NOTE This informative statement applies to any edition of these standards.”
2 Modification to Clause 1, “Scope”
Replace the first paragraph of Clause 1 with:
“This part of EN 61326 is a product family standard specifying requirements for immunity and emissions
regarding electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) for electrical equipment, operating from a supply or battery of
less than 1 000 V AC or 1 500 V DC or from the circuit being measured. Equipment intended for professional,
industrial-process, industrial-manufacturing and educational use is covered by this part. It includes equipment
and computing devices for
— measurement and test;
— control;
— LABORATORY use;
— accessories intended for use with the above (such as sample handling equipment),
intended to be used in industrial and non-industrial locations.”
3 Modification to Clause 4, “General”
Replace the last paragraph of Clause 4 with:
“The manufacturer may select to perform all tests on either a single EUT or divide the tests among multiple
EUTs. If the latter, each test result shall be traceable to the EUT tested.”
4 Modification to Clause 5, “EMC test plan”
Replace 5.2.1 “General” with:
“Measurement, control and LABORATORY equipment often consists of systems with no fixed configuration. The
kind, number and installation of different subassemblies within the equipment may vary from system to system.
Thus, the tests shall be performed on the worst-case performance-relevant arrangement(s) covering all intended
uses and carried out as TYPE TESTS.”
5 Modification to Clause 6, “Immunity requirements”
Replace 6.2” Immunity test requirements” with:
“Table 1 gives the immunity requirements for equipment intended to be used in a BASIC ELECTROMAGNETIC
ENVIRONMENT.
Table 2 gives the immunity requirements for equipment intended to be used in an INDUSTRIAL ELECTROMAGNETIC
ENVIRONMENT.
Table 3 gives the immunity requirements for equipment intended to be used in a CONTROLLED ELECTROMAGNETIC
ENVIRONMENT.
Table A.1 gives the immunity requirements for portable test and measurement equipment that is powered by
battery or from the circuit being measured.
The performance criteria A, B, and C that are mentioned in the following tables are described in Table 4, Table 5
and Table 6.
