Combined flexible materials for electrical insulation - Part 1: Definitions and general requirements
IEC 60626-1:2023 is available as IEC 60626-1:2023 RLV which contains the International Standard and its Redline version, showing all changes of the technical content compared to the previous edition. IEC 60626-1:2023 contains the definitions related to and the general requirements to be fulfilled by combined flexible materials for electrical insulation. This document does not include mica papers used as a primary component, which are covered by the IEC 60371 series, but insulation materials based on mica paper can be used as component of a combined flexible material. Materials which conform to this specification meet established levels of performance. However, the selection of material by a user for a specific application is based on the actual requirements necessary for adequate performance in that application and not based on this specification alone. This fourth edition cancels and replaces the third edition published in 2009. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: a) the materials available for use within this series of standards have been updated; b) a framework has been created to allow test methods beyond those used for quality control specifications to allow for testing for qualification purposes.

IEC 60626-1:2023 est disponible sous forme de IEC 60626-1:2023 RLV qui contient la Norme internationale et sa version Redline, illustrant les modifications du contenu technique depuis l'édition précédente. L'IEC 60626-1:2023 contient les définitions et les exigences générales applicables aux matériaux combinés souples destinés à l'isolement électrique. Le présent document ne concerne pas les différents types de papiers de mica utilisés en tant que composantes primaires, couverts par la série IEC 60371, mais les isolants à base de papier de mica peuvent être utilisés comme constituants de matériaux combinés souples. Les matériaux conformes à cette spécification satisfont aux niveaux de performances établis. Cependant, le choix d’un matériau par un utilisateur et pour une application spécifique est fondé sur les exigences réelles nécessaires pour obtenir des performances satisfaisantes lorsqu’il est utilisé dans cette application, et non fondé sur cette seule spécification. Cette quatrième édition annule et remplace la troisième édition parue en 2009. Cette édition constitue une révision technique. Cette édition inclut les modifications techniques majeures suivantes par rapport à l'édition précédente: a) les matériaux disponibles, destinés à être utilisés dans cette série de normes, ont été mis à jour; b) un cadre a été créé, permettant de recourir à des méthodes d'essai en dehors de celles liées aux spécifications du contrôle qualité pour conduire des essais aux fins de la qualification.

Standard IEC 60626-1:2023 je na voljo kot IEC 60626-1:2023 RLV, ki vsebuje mednarodni standard in njegovo različico z revizijami, ki prikazujejo vse spremembe tehnične vsebine v primerjavi s prejšnjo izdajo.
Standard IEC 60626-1:2023 vsebuje definicije v zvezi s sestavljenimi prožnimi materiali za električno izolacijo in splošne zahteve, ki jih morajo ti izpolnjevati. Ta dokument ne vključuje sljudnega papirja, uporabljenega kot glavna komponenta, ki je zajet v skupini standardov IEC 60371, vendar je mogoče izolacijske materiale na osnovi sljudnega papirja uporabiti kot komponento sestavljenega prožnega materiala. Materiali, ki so skladni s to specifikacijo, ustrezajo določenim ravnem delovanja. electrical insulating materials" was submitted to the IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and approved by
CENELEC as EN IEC 60626-1:2023.
The following dates are fixed:
• latest date by which the document has to be implemented at national (dop) 2024-06-20
level by publication of an identical national standard or by endorsement
• latest date by which the national standards conflicting with the (dow) 2026-09-20
document have to be withdrawn
This document supersedes EN 60626-1:2012 and all of its amendments and corrigenda (if any).

Part 1: Definitions and general requirements
FOREWORD
1) The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a worldwide organization for standardization comprising
all national electrotechnical committees (IEC National Committees). The object of IEC is to promote international
co-operation on all questions concerning standardization in the electrical and electronic fields. To this end and
in addition to other activities, IEC publishes International Standards, Technical Specifications, Technical Reports,
Publicly Available Specifications (PAS) and Guides (hereafter referred to as “IEC Publication(s)”). Their
preparation is entrusted to technical committees; any IEC National Committee interested in the subject dealt with
may participate in this preparatory work. International, governmental and non-governmental organizations liaising
with the IEC also participate in this preparation. IEC collaborates closely with the International Organization for
Standardization (ISO) in accordance with conditions determined by agreement between the two organizations.
2) The formal decisions or agreements of IEC on technical matters express, as nearly as possible, an international
consensus of opinion on the relevant subjects since each technical committee has representation from all
interested IEC National Committees.
3) IEC Publications have the form of recommendations for international use and are accepted by IEC National
