This method describes the procedure for the ion chromatographic determination of the total amount of each individual ortho-ortho isomer of the chelating agents EDDHA and EDDHMA in fertilizers, containing one or both of these substances. The method allows the identification and the determination of the total water soluble fraction of each of these chelating agents. It does not allow to distinguish between the free form and the metal bound form of the chelating agents.

Dieses Verfahren beschreibt die Vorgehensweise für die ionenchromatographische Bestimmung des Gesamtgehalts von jedem Ortho-ortho-Isomer der Chelatbildner EDDHA und EDDHMA in Düngemitteln, die eine dieser oder beide Substanzen enthalten. Das Verfahren ermöglicht die Identifizierung und die Bestimmung des Gesamtanteils an wasserlöslichen Bestandteilen jedes dieser Chelatbildner. Es erlaubt keine Unterscheidung zwischen der freien und der metallish gebundenen Form der Chelatbildner.

La présente méthode décrit le mode opératoire de détermination par chromatographie ionique de la quantité totale de chaque isomère ortho-ortho des agents chélatants EDDHA et EDDHMA dans les engrais contenant l'une de ces substances ou les deux. La méthode permet d'identifier et de déterminer la fraction totale soluble dans l'eau de chacun de ces agents. Elle ne permet pas de faire la distinction entre la forme libre et celle liée à un métal des agents chélatants.
