This method describes the procedure for the ion chromatographic determination of the total amount of each individual chelating agent EDTA, HEDTA, and DTPA in fertilizers, containing one or more of these substances. The method allows the identification and the determination of the total water soluble fraction of each of these chelating agents. It does not allow to distinguish between the free form and the metal bound form of the chelating agent.

Dieses Verfahren beschreibt die ionenchromatographische Bestimmung der Gesamtmenge von jedem einzelnen der Chelatbildner EDTA, HEDTA und DTPA in Düngemitteln, die eine oder mehrere dieser Substanzen enthalten. Das Verfahren ermöglicht die Identifizierung und Bestimmung der Gesamtanteils an wasserlöslichen Bestandteilen jedes dieser Chelatbildner. Es erlaubt keine Unterscheidung zwischen der freien Form und der metallisch gebundenen Form der Chelatbildner.

La présente méthode décrit le mode opératoire de détermination par chromatographie ionique de la quantité totale de chacun des agents chélatants EDTA, HEDTA et DTPA présents dans les engrais contenant une ou plusieurs de ces substances. Cette méthode permet l'identification et le dosage de la fraction totale soluble dans l'eau de chacun de ces agents chélatants. Elle ne permet pas de faire la distinction entre la forme libre et la forme liée à un métal de l'agent chélatant.
