Acoustics - Laboratory measurement of sound insulation of building elements - Part 2: Measurement of airborne sound insulation (ISO 10140-2:2021)

This document specifies a laboratory method for measuring the airborne sound insulation of building products, such as walls, floors, doors, windows, shutters, façade elements, façades, glazing, small technical elements, for instance transfer air devices, airing panels (ventilation panels), outdoor air intakes, electrical raceways, transit sealing systems and combinations, for example walls or floors with linings, suspended ceilings or floating floors.
The test results can be used to compare the sound insulation properties of building elements, classify elements according to their sound insulation capabilities, help design building products which require certain acoustic properties and estimate the in situ performance in complete buildings.
The measurements are performed in laboratory test facilities in which sound transmission via flanking paths is suppressed. The results of measurements made in accordance with this document are not applicable directly to the field situation without accounting for other factors affecting sound insulation, such as flanking transmission, boundary conditions and total loss factor.

Dieses Dokument legt ein Verfahren zur Prüfstandsmessung der Luftschalldämmung von Bauprodukten wie Wänden, Decken, Türen, Fenstern, Abschlüssen, Fassadenelementen, Fassaden, Verglasungen, kleinen techni¬schen Bauteilen, wie Luftdurchlässen, Lüftungspanelen, Außenlufteintritten, Kabelkanälen, Abdichtungs¬systemen an Übergängen und Kombinationen, wie z. B. Wänden oder Decken mit Vorsatzschalen, abgehängten Decken oder schwimmendem Estrich, fest.
Die Prüfergebnisse können genutzt werden, um die Schalldämmeigenschaften von Bauteilen zu vergleichen, Bauteile nach ihrer Schalldämmung zu klassifizieren, die Konstruktion von Bauprodukten zu unterstützen, die bestimmte akustische Eigenschaften erfordern, und um die Eigenschaften im eingebauten Zustand im vollständigen Gebäude abzuschätzen.
Die Messungen werden in Prüfständen durchgeführt, in denen eine Schallübertragung über Flankenwege unterdrückt wird. Die Ergebnisse der nach diesem Dokument durchgeführten Messungen sind nicht direkt auf die Situation in der Praxis anwendbar, ohne dass andere Faktoren, wie Flankenübertragung, Randbedingun¬gen und Gesamtverlustfaktor, die die Schalldämmung beeinflussen können, berücksichtigt werden.

Le présent document spécifie une méthode de mesure en laboratoire de l’isolation au bruit aérien des produits de construction tels que les murs, planchers, portes, fenêtres, fermetures, éléments de façade, façades, vitrage, petits éléments techniques, par exemple les dispositifs de transfert d’air, bouches d’aération (bouches de ventilation), entrées d’air extérieures, conduits électriques, systèmes d’étanchéité de passage, et des combinaisons, par exemple les murs ou planchers avec revêtements, les plafonds suspendus ou les planchers flottants.
Les résultats d’essai peuvent être utilisés pour comparer les propriétés d’isolation acoustique des éléments de construction, classer ces éléments selon leurs aptitudes d’isolation acoustique, aider à concevoir des produits de construction nécessitant certaines propriétés acoustiques, et évaluer la performance in situ dans les bâtiments complets.
Les mesurages sont effectués dans des installations d’essai en laboratoire dans lesquelles la transmission acoustique par les voies latérales est supprimée. Les résultats des mesurages effectués conformément au présent document ne sont pas directement applicables in situ sans tenir compte d’autres facteurs qui influencent l’isolation acoustique, tels que la transmission latérale, les conditions limites et le facteur de perte total.

This document (EN ISO 10140-2:2021) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 43
"Acoustics" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 126 “Acoustic properties of building
elements and of buildings” the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by November 2021, and conflicting national standards
shall be withdrawn at the latest by November 2021.
