Space product assurance - Thermal cycling test for the screening of space materials and processes
This European Standard details a thermal cycling test under vacuum for the screening of materials and processes intended for use in the fabrication of spacecraft and associated equipment. The test determines the ability of these or other articles to withstand changes of ambient temperature under vacuum.
Typical materials or assemblies that can be evaluated by means of this test method are listed below. This is not an exhaustive list and other products or items can be tested:
- adhesives;
- adhesive bonded joints;
- coatings (paint, thermal and protective);
- insulating materials;
- metallic bonded joints;
- metallic samples, finished by plating or chemical conversion;
- metallized plastic films;
- organic or non-organic bonding;
- plated surfaces;
- potting compounds;
- pressure-sensitive tapes;
- printed circuit boards;
- reinforced structural laminates;
- sealants;
- soldered or welded joints.

In dieser Europäischen Norm wird ein Temperaturwechseltest unter Vakuumbedingungen zur Untersuchung von Werkstoffen und Verfahren festgelegt, der beim Bau von Raumfahrzeugen und der zugehörigen Ausrüstung zur Anwendung kommt. Mit diesem Test wird die Widerstandsfähigkeit von Raumfahrzeugen und sonstigen Bauein-heiten gegenüber Änderungen der Umgebungstemperatur unter Vakuumbedingungen ermittelt.
Nachfolgend werden übliche Werkstoffe oder Baugruppen aufgeführt, die mit diesem Testverfahren bewertet werden können. Die Aufstellung ist nicht vollständig, es können auch andere Produkte oder Baueinheiten getestet werden:

¾ Überzüge (thermische Überzüge, Farb- und Schutzüberzüge);

La présente Norme européenne décrit en détails un essai de cyclage thermique sous vide permettant de sélectionner les matériaux et processus destinés à être utilisés dans la fabrication des satellites et des équipements associés. Cet essai permet de définir la capacité des matériaux et des processus ou d'autres articles à supporter des modifications de température ambiante sous vide.
Les matériaux et assemblages types pouvant être évalués de la sorte sont énumérés ci-dessous. La liste ci-dessous n'est pas exhaustive et d'autres produits ou articles peuvent être testés :
