List of European standard qualities of waste paper
The object of this European standard is to establish a nomenclature for European standard qualities of waste paper, by defining what they do and do not contain. It is not the purpose of this European standard to specify all the qualities of waste paper that exist in the different markets, but rather to define those qualities commonly traded in the European markets. This European standard is not valid for use in the food packaging field because of specific requirements of food contact and sanitary and health regulations.
Europäische Altpapier- und Standardsorten-Liste
Mit der vorliegenden Sortenliste ist beabsichtigt, eine Nomenklatur der europäischen Altpapier-Standardsorten festzulegen, wobei die Zusammensetzung der Sorten und Ausschüsse definiert werden. Es ist nicht Zweck der Norm, alle Altpapiersorten, die auf den verschiedenen Märkten vorhanden sind, festzulegen. Sie soll vielmehr die Gruppen definieren, die innerhalb der Europäischen Gemeinschaft gehandelt werden. Diese Norm legt keine speziellen Anforderungen, wie für Lebensmittel-, Sanitär- oder Medikamentenverpackungen, fest.

La présente norme a pour objet d'établir une nomenclature des sortes standard européennes de vieux papiers, en définissant celles-ci par leur contenu et leurs exclusions éventuelles. Elle ne vise pas à répertorier toutes les sortes de vieux papiers existant sur les différents marchés, mais plutôt à définir les sortes couramment commercialisées sur les marchés européens. Cette norme ne s'applique donc pas dans le cas des emballages destinés au contact alimentaire ou de réglementations sanitaires touchant à la santé publique.
