This European standard defines the grades of steel and strip with specified mechanical properties and magnetic permeability. In particular it gives the technological, mechanical and magnetic properties, the dimensional tolerances as well as the conditions of acceptance. This European Standard applies to material used for the poles and rims of rotating electrical machines. These materials correspond to clause D2 of IEC 404-1.

Die vorliegende Norm enthält die Anforderungen für Band und Blech aus Stahl mit festgelegten mechanischen und magnetischen Eigenschaften. Im einzelnen sind die technologischen, mechanischen und magnetischen Eigenschaften, die Grenzabmaße sowie die Annahmekriterien festgelegt. Die vorliegende Norm gilt für Erzeugnisse, die für die Pole und Einfassungen von rotierenden elektrischen Maschinen bestimmt sind. Diese Erzeugnisse entsprechen dem Abschnitt D2 von IEC 404-1.
