Self-adhesive tapes - Measurement of thickness
This standard specifies a method to measure the total thickness of both the backing and adhesive layer comprising an adhesive tape. The thickness is a useful factor in defining an adhesive tape and checking its uniformity. It is used in the determination of physical and electrical properties. Since the width of adhesive tape shall be greater than the diameter of the pressure foot on the micrometer, and as this can be up to 12 mm, the method is therefore not strictly applicable to adhesive tapes having a width less than the diameter of the foot.

Die Dicke ist ein wichtiger Faktor für die Beschreibung eines Klebebandes und für die Überprüfung seiner Gleichmäßigkeit. Sie ist für die Bestimmung der physikalischen und elektrischen Eigenschaften von Bedeutung. Da die Klebebandbreite größer sein muß als der Durchmesser des Tastfußes des Dickenmeßgerätes, und da dieser bis zu 12 mm betragen kann, ist diese Methode auf Klebebänder einer Breite von weniger als dem Tastfußdurchmessser nicht gut anwendbar.

La présente norme prescrit une méthode pour mesurer l'épaisseur de l'ensemble du support et de la couche adhésive constituant un ruban adhésif. L'épaisseur est un élément intéressant pour caractériser un ruban adhésif et contrôler son uniformité. Elle est utilisée dans la détermination de propriétés physiques et électriques. Etant donné que la largeur du ruban adhésif doit être supérieure au diamètre de la touche du dispositif micromérique et que celui-ci peut atteindre 12 mm, la méthode n'est donc pas en toute rigueur applicable aux rubans adhésifs ayant une largeur inférieure au diamètre de la touche.
