This European Standard applies to heat meters, that is to instruments intended for measuring the heat which, in a heat-exchange circuit, is absorbed or given up by a liquid called the heat-conveying liquid. The meter indicates heat quantity in legal units. Electrical safety requirements are not covered by this standard. Meters with surface mounted temperature sensors are not yet included in this standard. Part 4 specifies pattern approval tests.

Wärmezähler mit oberflächenmontierten Temperaturfühlern werden in dieser Norm noch nicht behandelt. Der vorliegende Teil 4 behandelt die Prüfung für die Bauartzulassung von Wärmezählern.

La présente norme européenne s'applique aux compteurs d'énergie thermique, c'est-à-dire aux instruments destinés à mesurer l'énergie thermique qui, dans un circuit d'échange thermique, est cédée ou absorbée par un liquide répondant à l'appellation de "liquide caloporteur". Le compteur fournit la quantité d'énergie thermique en unités de mesure légales. La présente norme ne traite pas des prescriptions de sécurité électrique. Elle ne traite pas non plus des compteurs à sondes de température montées en surface. Cette 4éme partie traite des procédures d'approbation de modèles de compteurs.
