This European Standard describes a method for the ultrasonic testing of uncoatedflat steel product for internal discontinuities. It is applicable to flat product in nominal thickness range of 6 mm to 200 mm of non-alloyed or alloyed steel, excluding austenitic or austenoferritic steels. However, this standard may be applied to the latter types of steels provided that the difference between the amplitude of the noise signal and that of the echo detection threshold is sufficient for the limit fixed.

In dieser Europäischen Norm wird ein Verfahren zum Nachweis innerer Inhomogenitäten mittels Ultraschall an nichtbeschichteten Flacherzeugnissen festgelegt. Esist anwendbar auf Flacherzeugnisse mit einem Nenn-Dickenbereich von 6 mm bis 200mm aus nichtlegiertem oder legiertem Stahl, jedoch nicht auf austenitische oder austenoferritische Stähle. Diese Norm darf jedoch auch auf die zuletzt genann- ten Stahlsorten angewendet werden, wenn der Abstand zwischen der Amplitude der Rauschanzeige und der Amplitude, die der Nachweisgrenze entspricht, (Signal/ Rauschabstand), für den festgelegten Grenzwert ausreicht.

La présente norme européenne décrit une méthode de contrôle ultrasonore des discontinuités internes des produits plats non revêtus. Elle s'applique aux produits plats d'épaisseur nominale supérieure ou égale à 6 mm et inférieure ou égale à 200 mm en acier non allié ou allié, à l'exclusion des aciers austé- nitiques ou austéno-ferritiques. Cependant la présente norme peut être appli- qués à ces types d'acier sous réserve que la différence entre l'amplitude du bruit de fond et celui du niveau de l'écho de détection soit suffisante pour la limite fixée.
