This European Standard for the approval testing of brazers (as defined in 3.1) specifies basic requirements essential to the brazing process, test conditions, assessment and certificates. Because of the wide range of applications of brazing this standard does not specify detailed acceptance criteria as these are product-specific and have in each case to be agreed prior to the contract (see clause 4). It is
anticipated that, where necessary, specific requirements for individual industries will be developed within this framework and detailed in the relevant application standard. The recommended format for the certificate of approval testing is given in annex A. With regard to the approval test, the brazer should be required to show adequate practical experience and knowledge of the brazing processes, materials and safety requirements for which he is to be approved to a written procedure. This standard applies to hand torch (flame) brazing and only to approval of brazers whose manipulative skills have a direct bearing on the outcome and effectiveness of the brazed joint. It does not apply to those who are not required to apply manipulative skill, since such approval is not normally necessary. If a special professional education and examination in the domestic field included brazing, this standard does not apply to a brazer while he is employed in that field. The certificate of approval testing is issued under the sole responsibility of the examiner or examining body.
Hartlöten - Hartlöterprüfung
Diese Europäische Norm legt für die Prüfung von Hartlötern (wie sie in 3.1 definiert sind) die grundsätzlichen Anforderungen fest, die für den Hartlötprozeß, die Prüfbedingungen, die Beurteilungen und die Prüfungsbe-scheinigungen wesentlich sind. Aufgrund des großen Anwendungsbereichs des Hartlötens gibt diese Norm keine detaillierten Bewertungskriterien wieder, da diese produktspezifisch sind und in jedem Fall vor dem Vertragsabschluß (siehe Abschnitt 4) zu vereinbaren sind. Es ist zu erwarten, daß, falls notwendig, innerhalb dieses Normenrahmens für einzelne Industrien besondere Anforderungen entwickelt und ausführlich in den entsprechenden Anwendungsnor-men festgelegt werden. Im Anhang A ist der empfohlene Vordruck für die Prüfungsbescheinigung wiedergegeben.
Bezugnehmend auf die Prüfung sollte der Hartlöter, der in einem schriftlichen Verfahren anzuerkennen ist, über eine angemessene praktische Erfahrung und Fachkenntnisse hinsichtlich der Hartlötprozesse, Werkstoffe und Sicherheitsanforderungen verfügen. Diese Norm gilt nur für das handgeführte Flammhartlöten und nur für die Anerkennung von Hartlötern, deren manuelle Fähigkeiten einen unmittelbaren Einfluß auf das Ergebnis und auf die Wirksamkeit der hartgelöteten Verbindungen haben. Sie ist nicht für diejenigen anzuwenden, bei denen eine manuelle Fähigkeit nicht gefordert wird, da eine solche Anerkennung in diesem Fall normalerweise nicht notwendig ist. Falls eine handwerkliche Ausbildung eine besondere berufliche Schulung und Prüfung für das Hartlöten enthält, ist diese Norm für einen Hartlöter nicht anzuwenden, solange er in diesem Bereich beschäftigt ist. Die Prüfungsbescheinigung für die Hartlöter wird unter der alleinigen Verantwortung des Prüfers oder der Prüfstelle ausgestellt.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les règles générales (modes opératoires d'essai, assemblages de qualification) pour le descriptif et la qualification de modes opératoires de brasage fort de tous les matériaux, métalliques et non métalliques. Il est entendu que lorsque cela s'avèrera nécessaire, des exigences spécifiques pour des industries particulières seront développées en suivant ce plan et seront détaillées dans la norme d'application correspondante. Le modèle recommandé pour le certificat de l'épreuve de qualification est donné à l'annexe B. Il suppose que les descriptifs de mode opératoire de brasage fort sont utilisés en production et, en ce qui concerne le brasage manuel à la flamme, qu'ils sont mis en oeuvre par des braseurs compétents qualifiés conformément à l'EN 13133, lorsque celle-ci est applicable.
