Diese Europäische Norm legt die Anforderungen fest für Schieber aus Stahl, die geschmiedet, gegossen oder geschweißt sind und Flansch-, Anschweiß-, Schweißmuffen- oder Gewindemuffenenden haben. Diese Norm ist anwendbar für Schieber aus Stahl, die vorwiegend für industrielle und allgemeine Anwendungen verwendet werden. Sie kann jedoch auch für andere Anwendungen verwendet werden unter der Voraussetzung, daß die Anforderungen der dafür geltenden Gebrauchstauglichkeitsnormen erfüllt sind.

La présente norme européenne prescrit les caractéristiques des robinets-vannes en aciers corroyés, moulés ou mécano-soudés à: - filetage et arcade ou à filetage intérieur (voir 4.3.2.2 pour limitations); - obturateur monobloc ou double; - sièges obliques ou parallèles; - passage intégral ou réduit; - extrémités à brides, à souder bout-à-bout, à emboîter et à souder ou filetées. Les gammes des diamètres nominaux et des pressions nominales sont spécifiées en 4.1.
